Heavy ..... I really dig this number. I've been a dedicated Pink Floyd aficionado since their conception; and each album they produce is a sterling winner. I am more amazed/impressed with each successive album they produce. I will never tire of their style of music - never.
They are "The Top"; as Fred Astaire would say. I saw them in concert during their Animals tour a long, long time ago - and they played impeccably live. They are professionals with uncanny insight.
PF... is an ultimate 1970's rock band that should have gotten much more credit. They are so above their time. So advanced in the vocals and musical talent. I am not much of a "rock type of guy", but they are soooooo "trippy" and awesome, I can't stop listening...... :-)
Amen to that, TheJazzyjeff - they are, indeed, so trippy! Although all the record stores that sell their music do stock them in the "Rock" category - I truly believe they are in a
category of their own making; as they are far beyond the confines of Rock music. There's one other musical artist that I feel the very same way about; regarding categorization - and that's Frank Zappa. They stock his stuff in the "Rock" section too, and he; like Pink Floyd; warrants his own category.
Not long after seeing Pink Floyd at Soldier Field during their Animals tour, I went to a laser show that the Chicago Planetarium had put on based on PF music. It was naive based on today's
standards and technology but the music made me feel out of this world just as it does now. And
This video surpassed the concept I had about a video for a song like this.....WOW!!! what a great mix of images! it should have been the official one! NICE JOB!!
Anyone know if there is a copy of the original commercial David Gilmour got the Stephen Hawking speech from? I know it was a british phone commercial.
@Birdhouse29 It's okay, Birdhouse ..... not everyone has the sophisticated musical taste that we lovers of Pink Floyd do! We're special 'cause they're special; and we dance to a different drummer! It's a good thing, my friend. (but I do happen to agree with you!)
This video had all the lyrics, and amazing display of a cosmic voyage. Congratulations.
The three dislikes were from people who do not understand music with meaning. They rather dismiss this music from existing, and crawl back to the music they're used to after being struck with the Awesomeness that is Pink Floyd.
pavijangp; thank you; it is inspirating me;I wished I could post like you did it; I really enjoyd it inspite searching something else! THANK YOU! Really wonderful amazing pictures
Not possible to surpass the brilliance and lyrical mastery of what Pink Floyd has done to the musical world...What is most disturbing is that all the rankings of greatest bands of all time, Pink Floyd isn't even in the top 5. That's a tragedy...
People will be listening to the likes of this in 200 years time as people listen to the likes of Mozart today. Its all about the deeper meaning, you either get it or you don't. Great post!
Know anything about synchronizing music to movies? I tried Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" to 2001: A space odyssey, and it was awesome, I just wondering if there was anything else pink floyd synced up to? Besides Dark Side Of The Moon to the wizard of oz.
Is the footage in this amazing video from a dvd I can buy? The cold dry silent surface of Mars, dead planets and moons, and anywhere a person deals with someone they deeply love who has shut them out; I believe the feeling of cold sorrow is the same.
Un trabajo magnifico , nos permite ser testigos de la belleza de nuestro universo ardiente. darnos cuenta de nuestro insignificante tamaño y de la gracia de estar vivos .
nicely done. Found this one looking for a vid that would have the lyrics typed out as the song progress. Couldnt find one of those, but pleased I found this.

Technically it is not Stephen Hawking voice but the technical one that he uses. It was apparently taken from a BT television advertisement.
A very cool concept would be one similar to this video. Stepen Hawking, on tour, explaining the universe with the accompanyment of Pink Floyd.
I suppose it could be happening somewhere in the Quantiverse/ Multiverse.
