  • I've been trying to find cases for my custom explorers and they're flat out too expensive! This helped me build the cases for em! Thanks so much!

  • wh0a thanx sir...i think i want t0 make 0ne...it is expensive??

  • what wood do you use?

  • I have a question, what is the music at 7:45? the dual guitar is awesome

  • @mitchellvanvliet I'm glad to hear that you liked it. All the Music in this videos is my own and I play all the instruments. I need back ground music and it is easier to write and record your own. Thanks again\

  • I need some guidelines (Urgent)

Actually i am going abroad soon.. & i want to make a guitar case (that can suit both Electric guitar & Acoustic Guitar) is it possible? sometimes i will keep electric & sometimes i will keep Acoustic guitar inside..

Any standard Measurement for that purpose?

  • What fabric did you use for interior?

  • True maestro! Great job, sir. The thing is, I only got simple stapler that takes staples up to 8mm long, so it won't work out. I will probably need to use some thin nails, around 20mm long.

  • This is a great video but I have to ask, why would you go to all this trouble, yet not use box (finger) joints in the corners?

  • @KipJordy1 This is a simple way to build a case and must cases on the market don't have finger joints

  • Ohh ok thanks

    another quiz question

for the rest of the material as the fabric, those metal things for the edges of the case, the handle and the locks.

any particular place where you got those.?

    Thanks

  • @reneosiris19 Any Hardware store should have them, They are used for suitcases

  • what kind of wood for a light case.?

  • @reneosiris19 Laun underlayment sold at Home Depot, Lowes or any home inprovement store

  • @guitwild hey.. how u made your pickups?

  • can you use any wood ?

  • @yayable123 It depends on how light you want your case, I want a light case

  • You really good at this :) Keep posting. Subbed :)

  • are you sure thats a jigsaw at 8:25 because my shop teacher says its a scroll saw

  • @garrettlee9512 Yes that is a scroll saw some times when you hurry to get this videos out you make mistakes there is alot that goes into producing videos.

  • @guitwild oh ok i was just making sure, thanks for the video.

  • @garrettlee9512 Jigsaw is a generic term that is commonly used for both the scroll saw and the sabre saw.

  • 1 Question: can you put whatever colour on/in the case or is it just all black. MrGH3Man4

  • @MrGH3Man4 Any color, but I found that red Bleeds for some reason so I never use red.

  • 59,999 viewer!!!

  • omg he sounds just like kevin costner

  • I thought about building a case but... I made a list of parts from homedepot and michaels (wood, hindges, fabric, glue, styrofoam, paint, etc.) and it was more expensive than buying one. I got one for $39.99, ripped off the inside and re-used the fabric and reshaped the inside it with styrofoam and I got a custome case for about $50 total. Thats way cheaper that builing your own, not to mention all the time wasted by building one (time= money) Just buy a cheap case and re-do the inside to fit

  • @zer0dahero You are right, I never said it was cheaper, I said if you build an odd shaped Guitar you may have to build a case to fit it.

  • @zer0dahero sometimes its just more fun to construct your own case. To custom fit your own guitar, that is.Sometimes, you would like to be creative, you know, do your own thing.Make it how you want it.Make cool little pockets for picks or whatnot.Or extra space for strings,or small tools for your guitar.

  • @zer0dahero You are a genius. Thank you. I have enough to obsess over with electronics and finish/inlay possibilities.

  • What type of material did you use please?

  • What type of wood are you using please?

  • How thick is the plywood in mm?

  • What kind of material did you use for the inside?

  • @pruttnr9 plush fabric that I purchased from WalMart

  • I built this case and I found that the Luan plywood doesn't need to be perfect on both sides. Saves a lot of money. I used Black burlap for the covering, $3.99 per yard.. First I sprayed the outside with one can of 99cent flat black from Walmart, glued the burlap on making sure that the weave was straight, and then sprayed over the burlap with clear polyurethane. It looks just like ballistic nylon and is tough as nails. I did the ends like Fender does theirs, but I used 2" nylon strap material.

  • @mbreaux72 Good job

  • @guitwild Thank you. I never thought that the burlap would work. Walmart sells fleece throws that are perfect for the inside, both top and bottom, for next to nothing. I used a red tiger stripe throw that looks great with my red guitar. Thanks again.

  • Comment removed

  • @mbreaux72 i'm going to try the Burlap it sounds like a great idea, Thanks

    Perry

  • @guitwild The burlap comes in different colors and usually has fold lines in it. These can be easily ironed out. I think it's 60" wide, so 2 yards is more than enough. It beats the heck out of buying Tolex.

  • Novak? Are you related to Ralph Novak?

  • @PanteraMan717 may be

  • where did you get all the wood and stuff? home depot?

  • how did you paint that neck green like that?

  • @6Crypt6Ripper6 Green transparent water base air brush paint, Followed by coats of clear Lacquer

  • @Slayerized2701 Its called a "Table Saw", You are right you can do some damage to your fingers, so be very careful when using any power tool.

  • this is an awesome vid. i love it. subscribing!

  • how thicks the styrofoam you used ?

  • the fabric that bound yourself? and that fabric is?

  • this is awesome thanks guitwild ill use this to build a case for my silvertone apocalypse :D

  • what did you use to cover the case with?

  • Great editing and camera angles.

  • @janken919 Thanks that is the first compliment about the production. Thanks again

    Perry

  • is this a show on tv?

  • @evilguitar9430 I wish. That was the idea but right now I am just trying to help those who would like to build there own guitar. You could send letters to the Learning Channel and tell them this show should be on the air. :)

  • Sounds like Kevin Costner is narrating this video

  • @3PODza He is

  • @guitwild hahaha. thats cool.

  • Great Video! Using this process to make myself a case for both an RP500 and Soundboard :)

  • can u plz give me all the dimensions which u have used in this guitar case and also give the name of wood ?plzzzzzzzzz

  • @susreee Did you not watch or listen to the video? He indirectly answered both of your questions.

Good video man. Great production :)

  • I'm using the basic idea to build a case for my Tenor Ukulele, at a much smaller scale of course. This helped a lot, thanks for the video!

  • thanks for the vid - i like the music also - sounds like Bill Nelson ex guitarist with Be Bop Deluxe.

  • @bilhama0 Thank you. Bill Nelson is one of my favorite guitarist. I got to see Bebop Deluxe live three times.

  • @guitwild well if thats you playing you certainly have the Nelson touch of magic about you - beautiful sweeping harmonies - Bill still plays live once a year in a town close to where i live (York - England). I saw him live about 2 years ago at his annual convention 'Nelsonica'. Well worth a trip if you're ever in the UK in the Autumn. Thanks for the case building vid - i'm building one for my pignose travel guitar.

  • Thanks for the vid....I just built an explorer...check out my vids.....I w have been looking to build a case...Thanks

1.) what is kind of wood is that? is that a plywood?

2.) what is the name of the "black" fabric? Can I also use it for pedal boards?

3.) what glue did you use to make the outer and inner fabric stick to the wood?

  • how thick is the board?

  • @JoeRKsChannel 1/4"

  • Nice...Just built an explorer and need a case

  • what did you use on the inside of the case?

  • all the guitars i have had have used a short fibre length Faux Fur looking material. Ebay's your best bet for large rolls and cheap pirce

  • i like the classical guitar look.

  • what glue did you use?

    or what kind of glue

  • Tite Bond II

  • what kind of durable fabric!? please reply! that's the step i'm at now.

  • Any fabric that is used to cover furniture

  • okay thanks, I ended up using a red vinyl. it looks very nice. I'm having a hard time finding the metal corner pieces though.

  • how thick is the plywood?

  • @icemuzic 1/4"

  • thank u sir..over all how much does it costs?i think i will build one..

  • It is cheaper to buy a case most of the time. But if you have a odd shaped Guitar or if you want a case that will do more then hold just a Guitar it will cost you around $70.00 or more

  • what kind of wood did u use?

  • He states during the video that he used luon for the top and bottom and pine for the frame.

  • at the beginning of the video he talks in cm how to we have to cut the main timber, please what is this measure? What are all measures, please ... I don't speak English so I have this doubts

  • Luan plywood

  • what evr happened to the vid on how to make a dragon guitar

  • its "How to build an electric guitar Pt.1 & 2 on their channels

  • cool guitar ;)

  • What is the (overall) size of the Dragon Guitar in the first place?

I ask just so I can compare between those sizes and the plywood sizes. I don't mind that you used your own sizes, but it would help to know how to adjust to my own guitar(s).

  • The Same size as a Tele

  • Thanks!

  • is it just me or does this guy's voice sound like kevin costner?

  • May be I do, but I wish I had his money

  • ehehe

  • could you make this with hand tools?

  • but these are the dimensions for your guitar

  • What dimensions should I have used? You will have to figure out what you need for your Guitar.

  • Great video! Tnx for posting.

  • For the outside I used a tweed type Material ( Furniture covering Fabric ) and for the inside I used a plush fabric that is used to make things like Holloween Costumes.

  • what kind of fabric did you use?

  • You just gave me the know how and inspiration to build my own guitar case. Thanks man.

  • what thickness board??

  • 1/4" is the thickness of the Laun Plywood used in making this case.

    Perry Novak

  • About three hours

  • how much that case cost you?

  • They are not cheap to make but sometimes making a case is the only way of protecting your odd shaped Guitar. To answer your question it costs around $70.00 depending on how fancy you make it.

  • wow... how long that take ya to do??

  • first time i see some one building a guitar case. sweet thanks man.

  • s 19-F-hottie here. I'm just saying that girls LOVE this vid. 3

  • please make a guitar cabinet!!!great video!!!from argentina.patricio

  • thanks man but...how much it costs to do it?(aprox)

  • i have a question

does it matter what kind of wood you use for the case?

  • Some store bought cases are made out of pressed cardboard. I use 1/4 inch floor underlayment and 3/8 " pine for the frame.

    Perry

  • how do you make a molded guitar case?

  • lol the song is so cheesy, but the videos rock! keep them comming :-p

  • Wow, you have no idea how helpful this was. I found an old gun case someone was throwing away a few months ago, and I've been meaning to convert it into a decent guitar case. This definitely gave me an idea of where to start. Thanks!

  • Finally, now I can try to build myself a great quality case, I hope it comes out as good as yours. You are the man, keep the shows coming man.

  • hey, nice job, wanna build me a case im having trouble finding one to suit my guitars shape and i need one to get it to and from school how much would this cost and where are and if your not form australia please tellm ethe currency ur using so i can convert a price (only if you ca make me one) :)

  • I live in the USA. I would need the dimensions of your guitar to figure how much material is needed, or your can watch the show a few more times and build it your self. That is what the Guit Wild Guitar Show is all about. Thanks for watching. Perry
