The government should stop preventing and outlawing access to the natural treatments and cures for cancer, diabetes, AIDS, MS, etc., and stop protecting the pharmaceutical mafia monopoly. Affordable health care would promptly follow such a free market health care approach.
To force anyone to pay for that with which he disagrees and does not wish to participate in is tyrannous and wicked. Spend your own money, not other people's money.
People go in the military and die every year so that our government can provide us with protection.. THAT infringes on other peoples rights. Not healthcare!
I have no big problems with folks who view health care as a right. Just make sure you implement a health care approach that avoids long waiting list, deficit problems, doesn't cause people to over consume services and can be sustained over a long term regardless of demographic changes.
To claim that health care is a right is to claim that one person owes another person their labor simply because the person receiving the benefit of that labor exists. That is an absurd notion on its face. For one person to claim such a right, another person must necessarily be indebted to him from the start - by default - because the service being demanded has value, and that service will not have to be compensated for by the recipient due to a proclaimed birthright. How is that not slavery?
How is healthcare a right? Can you exercise your right to healthcare without infringing on someone elses rights? The answer is no you cannot. Healthcare is a business, not a right.
