I did experience one typhoon landing in Narita many years back on SQ B747-400, flying back from LAX! It was scary and dangerous! The right wing tip almost hit the runway seconds before touch down in a gust a strong wing! The pilot told us later in the hotel room that if he couldn't steer the aircraft in the split second, we would be all history, meaning crashed at Narita runway! Thank god!
when i saw this vid .. i immediately expected that ppl will comment about ur WA during that piece of shit covering the view .. and i was right ... next time just dont post a video like that
woah...but the approach seemed so steady...why did he suddenly ank left so hard right before touchdown? maybe im missing something? i dont see what caused that! the approach seemed perfect.
@tomcatpilot1 he banked left so the plane doesn't get pushed off the centreline. Usually with a strong crosswind, the pilot will crab the plane in and just before it touches down he needs to straighten it. As he straightens it, if he doesn't bank left in a strong crosswind, the plane will be pushed off the centreline

That's the light on the runway, not spark
Not a smooth landing, but considering the 28kts Xwind, not a bad one
Icehexahedron 2 years ago
men men men, you did'nt caught the touch down....
aircharts 2 years ago
Did the starboard engine hit the ground... I'm sure there are sparks just after the plane comes back into view??

Yes I'm almost sure...

340deg at 28 knots is 90 deg crosswind in HKG. Awesome!
azlee19 2 years ago
28 knots isnt that bad. We've had gusts up to 50 knots here on a regular day in vegas.
Ubeans2001 2 years ago
and how often does it go over 90 knots? there are no typhoons in vegas

tomcatpilot1 2 years ago
Maybe that is caused by wind shear or crosswind
Rover75v6 2 years ago 2
Caused by the weather
kidcaptian 2 years ago
It was caused by the wind. lol typhoons tend to be windy.
