@pushead2600 every solution has its own set of problems. Reliable renewable sources of producing electricity, batteries that don't require plastics (refined oil) etc etc. I agree in moving forward. I don't agree with mass hysteria created by the same groups that already profit from our current energy sources.

I guess most people forget that this is history repeating itself. As technology advances, so to will our energy sources change. Mankinds only problem is they are against going backwards.

@repairthings Plastics and large numbers of people do not make the oil spill and the use of toxic dispersants in the aftermath a good thing for anyone except for the industry themself. Did you know they made millions with deals for the cleanup alone? The government doesn't do anything about it (corruption), and BP Oil did forbid their people on the oil platform and the 'cleanteam' to talk about the spill, they even forbid them to wear protection agains the toxins. BP is inhumane, nothing less.

@icemanreed Clean energy sources surround us everywhere: wind, solar, tidal, wave and geothermal all are now efficient providers of energy, but the problem for us is that for the greedy industry these do not provide the cash flow that Oil does. We do not have to depend on oil at all actually, plastics can even be made from other sources easily now, the same goes for fuel. Industry leaders do not care about you, the world.. only their pockets and the power that comes with it.
