  • @dixie60 do u know how many tons of weapons and other supplies were sent to britain from the US? because i dont, but it was several million, if not even more. britain almost failed to hold back the Luftwaffe, it was a bad decision of Hitler when he wanted to bomb London instead of the airfields, and that decision gave the RAF enough time to repair the airfields and radars etc. so of course mainly u saved your ass, but alone u may have failed.

  • dixie60 @ and the same goes for soviet russia:)

  • Great work, thanks man ;)

  • WWII was caised by "An unprovoked attack on Poland". That definitely was the official reason England and France (both belatedly after watching several small countries whom they had treaties with go into death throws and refused to help)

What started WWII was the Versailles Treaty and the mistreatment of the German people. No free people will live under an iron fist, especially not England's!!! Perhaps India and China sometimes, but Germany, NEVER!

Talk about slave masters, "The sun never set

  • @lanejanlandonmorgan "Refused to help"? America refused to help for over TWO YEARS, so dont go playing that game hear! Britain was amongst the first to join the war!

  • Germany was the nation that started the war. No one can disagree!

It was because of the unprovoked invasion on poland. Britain heard about this so they declared war on Germany, if anything Britain saved the world from domination by Germans, and this is coming from an Aussie.

  • UP THE IRONS FROM CANADA! :D

Oh, since we is on the subject :P

Britian didn't start the war, Germany declared war on France which dragged them in because of an alliance. Britian could have held of the Germans for awhile because of their airforce. The Germans lost all theirs in The Battle of Britian. The war would have ended a couple years later but thats it.

  • @Marksman0079 well actualy some stupid 1 ball austrian thought hmm i want to fuck up the world so went to germany said help me or die people helped him then he invaded poland then we are like oh no you diddent you fat gay we gunna help those poor people pew pew boooom the end

  • DEMASIADO BUENA!

  • this is about WWII when the british held off the nazi air force so the british military could recuperate

  • we didnt just hold them off. we prevented an invasion. when some americans say 'we saved your ass' they didnt....we didnt need to be saved as we wernt invaded lol

  • @dixie60 well said, hope you dont mind but i cut and pasted your comment on my facebook wall as it is clear :). up the british

  • @jingtroc23 nah not at all. spread the word

  • @dixie60 whose supplies kept you in the war??? Face it. You started a war with Germany---got your arses handed to you, and then needed to be saved by your former colony. Without American industrial output the Allies were fuct. War is about logitics and supply procurement. When Americans say we saved your ass---that's probably what we are referencing. Thanks for the oil spill by the way!

  • @dixie60

i dont think that you would have been able to manage that invasion by yourself

  • @dixie60 sorry , im canadian not american and even I in the common wealth knows that UK wouldnt have stood much longer.

  • @dixie60

The emaricans saved ur ass if they hadent shown up you would be fucked. also if the war whent on a month longer england would have been invaded.

  • @gally612 Fuck off cunt, we gave more than you we entered in 1939 as opposed to your 1941. We lost more people in WW2 than you and our country is many, many times smaller. Your also forgetting our mass Empire and common wealth forces all fighting for us not to mention our Russian allies of 34500000 who gave more than anyone else. I appreciate Americas help but how dare you spew that filth disrespecting the dead by changing historical fact! - You did not save us, you only helped us!

  • @samj5664

dick hole. england was a dying country germany had there supply lines cut and yuor resorsces were almost completly depleted. if america didnt come you were screwed. and i am NOT american I am canadian and even though i hate america i still say they saved u

  • @gally612 Canadian? Well then your a Canadian cunt, you insult me with no insult to you! Have you seen photos of Germany after the war the RAF savaged their citys through out the war, with the breaking of the enigma code the U-boat menace was destroyed by the end of the war so much so 1 in 4 U-boat servicemen died as a result, we crushed the Luftwaffe and destroyed the Kriegsmarine! We had many resorces and our country men ate well in Gemany people starved to death! We won long before 1945!

  • @gally612 Erm what are you talking about? England wasn't a dying country! No one was starving, we have more than enough resources just we weren't processing them as fast as we needed to. ALSO We don't have supply lines the Britsh islands have always been self contained, we have someone of the most fertile lands on the planet, and (along with your country Canada) one of the 3 countries on the planet with sustainable fresh water supplies. (the third being Russia) and canada fought too remember!

  • @dixie60 I'm speaking as an american here: WW2 was, no matter how you look at it, a joint effort. Countries banded together to counter a common threat, and did a damn good job.

For American accomplishments, there was the famous Battle of the Bulge during the 2nd failed Blitzkrieg. The Americans, especially the 101st Airborne dug in and held out until the 1st and 3rd American Armies could come to the rescue. Had they not, the Germans would have broken through and taken Belgium.

  • @Vlaedr88 Woops, pressed the button too many times. XD

Anyways, if they had taken Belgium on the ground they would have had a chance to launch an invasion on Britian.

For British accomplishments, there was how the RAF kicked Luftwaffe ass in the Battle of Britian and severly crippled them which likely had a major effect on the outcome of the war.

  • @Vlaedr88 We all did our part in WW2, we all had wins and losses. The ALLIES won WW2, not any single country. All of us played a vital part in WW2, and the war would have ended very differently had we not. To compare any individual country's accomplishments against another is meaningless and futile.

  • @dixie60 Oh, so you would have single handedly won the war without us? Yes the defense of England was heroic, but be realistic, you would have crumbled eventualy.

  • @TheRisingDown Tell that to the russians... Yes, the US did help us win the war no doubt, but if the US hadn't stepped in at all the war would have been over faster (I can mail you if you would like the complete story and reasons why) but the way things happened we have alot to thank the US for. But we weren't alone, we had many countries fighting withus besides you guys. You guys aren't looking at the bigger picture only based on what happened then removing a party from that moment in time,

  • @TheRisingDown Oh also, for the most part we weren't defending ourselves, every Nazi attempt to land on english shores with a force failed before it even begun (ie the Plan Via Norway and the one via france) We we're aiding our Allies not being Attacked (I'm not undermining the US's controbution though, France would have been ripped to shreds if the US hadn't sent their troops and armour when they did for the way things happened)

  • @AttitudeCastle I was being saurcastic. England held off the might of the german war machine, and that is not only more than any single country can say, but this song is also ONLY about the battle of brittain. The Brittish Defeating the Germans with only thier airforce, in defence of thier homelands. By the way, the germans had WAY more advanced fighters and bombers.

  • @TheRisingDown They weren't "WAY more advanced" but more effciently designed. Our advantage lay in our better pilots, and that the german crafts had only 50 miles of fuel (or there abouts) and the channel is ~20 miles across. It's genuinely great to see an American who understands sarcasm! It's the reason alot of british comedy doesn't translate across the pond. Well, Vietnam fought off china countless times in the ages of the dynasty, a tiny country against the greatest power in the world then.

  • @TheRisingDown The song is also about British spirit (or any Valorous spirit) in time of need, and taking a gamble for the sake of something important, told using this medium but yes in regards to the war you are correct that this song is about the Battle of Britain. And the Spitfire is still considered a great plane and the Spitfire and the less respected but more important Hurricane which truely won our aerial combat. The Battle of Britain wasnt famous for being just RAF vs Luftwaffe it's more

  • @dixie60

Lol , the USA got sidetracked with Japan to realy make a diffrence in the UK!

I love british spitfires BTW great planes

  • @dixie60 Yeah... but who kept you fed, supplied with ammo, and built your airplanes? We called them Liberty ships and we lost hundreds of them (because no one thought about the german subs). But HEY, at least ur not pussies like the French >:D Only ones to collect that money after the war and only bitching about the "beautiful country side."

  • every Maiden song has great lyrics
