@mycew You will still treat the tracks the same because you will memorize the "developer created" tracks for the sake of the single player experience and play the multiplayer tracks once or twice and move on to the next ones. Sure you get balls out creation but Modnation Racer is not an intimate experience like Mario Kart is. You remember Mario Kart's characters and tracks, while you'd be lucky to get people to download your characters and tracks, amongst a sea of daily DLC.

@redflagwaving008 Mario Kart is great for playing on the couch with friends but alone it gets old fast. The fact that races are almost entirely decided by luck is what kills it for me. No matter how good you get, you'll constantly get beaten by inferior opponents because they got a star in 3rd place or something stupid like that.

Modnation has much better driving mechanics, and since it requires more skill good players pretty much always do better than the bad ones, regardless of items.

@drummer07boy It's a pick your poison kind of situation. I fully agree with both your descriptions of each game. Unfortunately, Modnation alienates a good number of potential players because it doesn't contain this luck factor and its not any one person's fault that this happens. It's because of different skill levels and expectations of the game.

@darkjared1 Most likely video chat will only be work with friends, but voice chat isn't totally out of the question. I'm pretty sure Party chat only works with friends. :v

I can't freaking wait for this game, MNR is so much better than Mario Kart. Do I regret refunding my 3DS for a Vita? No, and I probably never will.

Regardless of whether images for buttons were taken from PS3 or not (which they are), they still have the function. Why include an image (the press down on the L3 and move the R stick for camera), if it isn't even in the game? Wouldn't they just take it out or replace it? We obviously will see when it launches.

On Black Ops Wii, you HOLD the X button equivalent while moving to sprint and just tap it to jump. To knife you press down on the D-pad. Honestly, going between PS3 and Wii versions it really doesn't bother me once you get used to it, which happens rather quickly.

ATTENTION! Sadly, it doesn't have L3 and R3 buttons. First of all, why would it be R3 and L3 when it doesnt even have L2 and R2? This is pre-alpha. They copied the ps3 version and slapped it on a ps vita and added a few features. They haven't changed most of the stuff from the ps3 game. Also, notice the select icon. Clearly that's not what the vita's select button looks like either.. That icon was taken from the ps3 game. It's not a big deal though. The touchscreens can replace R3 and L3.

@gloklowded Listen. The developers wanted to see if they could put modnation racers on the vita, so they literally took the ps3 game code, and popped it onto the vita. They added some touch features and lowered the resolution a bit. That's why there are r3 and l3 icons, aswell as the rectangular select button. This is only a tech demo or pre-alpha, so obvisously the icons will change when the game comes out. This is also why the framerate isn't great. They wanted to port a ps3 game onto it.

I really want to hold a Vita BEFORE it comes out just so I can see if it REALLY DOES have L3 and R3 clickable sticks...the ONLY proof it could exist is in this video, everywhere else doesn't say whether it has clicking analogs or not. Not on the Sony website, no where. I even sent in a support question to Sony and the person responding said they didn't have any information, and they even looked it up and couldn't find anything. I REALLY hope it does.

The PSVita slays the iPod/iPad and the 3DS although the 3DS is an enjoyable system.

The ModNation Racers franchise just blows Mario Kart out of the water. The graphics and special effects make ModNation Racers a blockbuster among the racing genre. The PlayStation Vita is a portable PS3. I'd take a handheld with PS3 graphics any day over Mario Kart Wii or DS or 3DS.

@Airking1105 actually its below what the ps3 can handle. the vita doesnt cant even handle the same amount of polygons as the ps3. if you look at a vita screen shot at a standard resolution, you can see the edges of models dont match that of a ps3 game. vita isnt as powerful, but slightly be low that of a ps3.
