I can't understand why people criticise this weapon being one of the most reliable 5.56 ever. It is much better than any other 5.56 from the seventies to the middle of the 2000. Only the latest HK 416 is better because it has an enhanced design for reliability. But famas is mor powerfull than hk 416 because of his longer barel and mor precise, and also the higher rate of fire make it an excellent weapon for Close combat ( sort of submachine gun chambered 5.56)Famas must be serviced after1000shot

Famas F1is ready since 1973. French army use it since 1980/1981.This model is the G2 used by french navy. It has a 1100 rpm when most assault rifles are 750rpm...it is faster than any other including the best submachine guns for rpm.

This weapon has never been upgraded because no problems. It is precise to 300m without scope. Also it is more powerfull than most 5.56 because of is longer barel even if the weapon is short (bullpup). Very good for urban warfare and has regular infatnery weapon.

@andrea130131 falso. primo, l' ARX usa i caricatori STANAG da m4 (cioè 5,56x45 e non 7,62x39)quindi ha la stessa potenza dell' ACR. e non è vero che il FA-MAS non ha una configurazione per mancini. è vero invece che è difficile e macchinoso eseguire la conversione. non è vero che il FA-MAS è impreciso. il suo rateo di fuoco (1000 colpi al minuto) rende difficile controllare raffiche, ma i proiettili sono precisi, è solo il rinculo che è consistente. ma sul GLX 160 non ci piove, il best al mondo!

It is not the best weapon in the worlds, it's true that it has to be washed frequently, it's dust sensitive, but it's not buggin everytime, i've used it for months and i've never had any problem with it.

FAMAS G2 (Use in the navy) on this version there is an large arcade over the trigger (to use with glooves in arctic conditions).

1000rpm is a theorical rate (shooting 1000 rounds in 1min will be imposible = makes the canon too warm)

However, 1000rpm is actually effective in semi-auto (3rounds) or full auto with a magasin of 20-30 rounds.

The FAMAS is the assault rifle with the highest rate of fire in the world. (effective or theorical)
