So cool that there's a videoclip from this song!...Even cooler that it's the long version and it's ultracool that Centralline14 took the trouble to post it:)
wqhen i started dj'ing in june 78 one of my fav records was tony lee's reach up....seeing the people in bentleys, silver shadow, leviticus, the colibron all dancing away and yes i did use status 4 "you aint really down"..to extended the mix along with the reach up chant....crowd went bananaas...lol
"Everybody reac, reach to the top, don´t stop, don´t stop!!".
This song and "keep on" by D train were my favorite songs when I started Djing back in 82. You should listen to "Love so deep" and "You ain´t really down". this last one by status IV (Toney lee was involved with this group)God Bless Toney Lee.
I heard that song on mix many times and it sounds a little different. Very positive message, good synth layered throughout the song...one of the reasons I used to love black music. It's too bad its edge, excitement and positive message.
trop cool j'adore cette chanson quelle éclate la dessus même encore maintenant du bon son de la vrai dance merci ++++

One of many great NYC underground jams that were the foundation for what was later called house music played by NYer Frankie Knuckles in Chicago.

I used to love this jam, still do but now that I think of it, Tony Lee looks just like the father from Eddie Murphy's movie "Nutty proffessor".
