Is there any way to hook up 2 or more LaunchPads and have the sequence cycle the steps onto each successive Launchpad (LP)? Lets say LP1 does steps 1-8, LP2 does 9-16, LP3 does 17-24 etc. That way you can lay out a longer sequence and make alterations as you wish... and see the track progress along the bottom? I think this would be ideal! If not can you UPDATE StepSeq to do this, I'd love that!

if you have a launchpad, then you can use the hundreds of monome apps out there. 7up and mlrV are some very cool ones, search for videos with them and you can see the possibilities. 7up includes a step sequencer, looper, and other things in one app.mlrV is mostly a loop launcher/sequencer. but you just need a monome emulator (nonome or monomemu are good) and you can run a lot of this stuff in Max for Live

for some reason the light that indicates which step is playing goes away and i cant find it! Where does it go? Once i set a pattern and go to adjust velocity or something, i cant get back to the main step sequencer. Where the hell do i go?

I took maxforlive and a launchpad.

Which cost nothing less that 430€ without counting the price of ableton live.

I think this beta version of a Step Sequencer could have been improved after a year it has been out

Moreover when you announce that there would be interesting stuff with max for live i think you can do more than a basic beta step sequencer.

hey there i'm really enjoying playing around with this step sequencer - totally makes my launchpad a different beast - and i can still launch cliips and everything too. ace!

just one thing - how do i use more than one? say i have one on a bass synth - the other on a lead etc - whenever i stick more than one stepseq in ableton it just copies the other... would be fantastic to do this thanks :)

Yes, you can do this by outputting the MIDI note data to your synth via a MIDI interface

Is it really true that you have to install Quicktime on your computer to get this to work? That's lame:( I would love to use this, but have no interest in installing Quicktime. It's too heavy. Any way to work around that? Anybody?

The StepSeq Max4live patch uses a jitter object. Jitter is a set of video extensions for Max/MSP and requires Quicktime to function correctly.

The way to change the notes is: press the round button on the right hand side labelled pan then press square grid pads. If you are looking at the appropriate keyboard range you will see the notes change position on the plugin GUI. Hope this helps.

I doesn't work for me.

I have Max for live and LIVE 8.1, with the Lauchpad.

I've downloaded from Novation's website the tool (it's free). It starts normally, but you cannot enter the note, same problem with other function. The only thing working is the display, at the bottom of the launchpad. You can see yellow square, that idicate the step timming.

If someone manage to use this.

For your information, i've try to reinstall the novation driver. My launchpad is ok with Ableton.

Yes, i've good news. If you're on Windows system, you have to install Quick Time on your computer. For me it's working now !!!
