This exact scene in the movie probably didn't in real life but all the battles in this movie actually did happen. The Battle of Stirling Bridge was actually fought on a bridge in RL though. Many of the scenes outside of the battles were made up for added drama although there is evidence that Longshanks son was a bisexual and that Wallace traveled to France on a few occasions during the war. Regardless of exact historical accuracy this film kicks ass!
