  • I love how Glinda is not even phased by this, hahaha. She just instigates it if anything :p

  • The witches exit happens to be the take where the actress was actually burned very badly.

  • Best villainist ever!

  • Poor Ephie, so misunderstood.

  • The witch of the west was trending on twitter cause of Madonna.

  • Ha ha the witch of the west was trending cause of madonnas exit in the Super Bowl

  • She looks diffrent in wicked

  • Did you notice someone screams before she appears?

  • @kkawebshow Yeah, I noticed it too! Plus the red smoke comes from the ground next to her and she steps into it. =P

  • So is the witch of the south good or bad?

Does a witch of the south even exist?

    If so, where is she?

    Under the rainbow?

Man, I'm thinking too deeply into this.

  • WW of the West has a case! See you in court my pretty!

  • After you see Wicked and then you watch this, you feel like its Glinda who should of died.

  • Sure, any villain can threaten the hero. But it takes a REAL villain to threaten the hero's dog!

  • @Slyrr7 Even Vader never did that.

  • it gets me how glinda could be so mean. i mean, it was her fault in the first place. "use her sister. spread a rumor that her sister is in danger adn she'll fly to her sister's side adn you'll have her".

  • Actually, she not only steals the shoes; she TELLS Elphie to get the shoes, then steals them!

  • Glinda was the world's first troll xD. She gets Elphie upset by stealing her sister's shoes, and of all people, she puts them on a little girl, no doubt giving her a death sentence. Then, she lets the little girl go through a whole lot of crap, only helping her once, just to say in the end basically 'Well, you coulda gone home in the beginning'.

  • i always wondered what woulda happened if she woulda followed the red brick road

  • Glinda was certainly enjoying this little cat and mouse game she was playing with Dorothy and the Wicked Witch. I'd say ditch Dorothy and go after Glinda!

  • watching this movie after seeing Wicked changes everything

  • This always scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

  • thumbs up for Alphaba

  • @ilovebaconsandwiches I never got the toto thing either 0.o

  • "I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!"

Now.... ladies and Gentlemen, I have just ONE question and one question only......

What the flying fuck did TOTO do to piss her off?! Did he take a shit in her hat or something?

  • Why do people keep referring her to as Elphaba?

While the movie does differ from the book, Wicked is in a completely different universe.

  • You can't really blame the Wicked Witch of the West for being upset. Her sister was murdered and then the only thing she has to remember her by, the ruby slippers, are stolen off her corpse. It's safe to assume they rightfully belong to the WWotW, considering the Wicked Witch of the East was her only living relative, which is suggested in this film. If I were that 'wicked' old witch, I'd be pissed too!

  • awww Elphie <3

  • Let's see, kill my sister, steal her shoes.........yeh, I'd be pissed.

  • Hilarious line, "I can cause accidents too." Is is an accident if it's intentionally caused? lol

  • i love how the Glinda just smiles through the whole thing like she's having sooo much fun. smh..

  • XD were doing a school play for the wizard of oz and i'm the wicked witch of the west XDD

  • The one thing that never made sense was, why does she need her broom if she's traveling by smoke cloud?

  • it's Elphaba!

  • 1:08

    HER LOGIC. IS IMPENETRABLE.

  • I like how Glinda suppose to be so big and bad..but when the witch leaves in a ball of fire she jumps and turns her head smh

  • Long black dress and cape, throwing fireballs, an entire army of flying monkeys, and awesome dissapearing scenes?1?!!? The ranks of cinematically ingenius go way up there...

  • Believe it or not, the actress who played the Wicked Witch of the West was a kindergarten teacher before she got her role.

  • Glinda is a passive-aggressive bitch, pretending to be nice, but stealing clothing off of the dead sister and expecting the witch to just smile and take it. And then putting Dorothy into harm's way as the full-on target for the wrath of the witch. Glinda ought to grow some balls and stick those shoes on her own feet and then let the fun begin!

  • @chnalvr I agree

  • that glenda just made a bad situation even worse for poor ol' Dorothy by sticking those shoes on her didn't she?

  • " I'll get you my pretty...and your little dog too!"

  • mariola

  • to quote James Rolfe "Why does Glinda have such disregard for Dorothy's safety??"

  • First time I saw this I was 4 yrs. old. The year...You Guess? LoL.....

  • "I thought you said she was dead"

Yeah, they just sang a whole song about it :)

  • Lmao, i love how Judy models the ruby slippers at 0:56, it's like "Damn, I look good in these..."

  • Its funny people say that this story was in a different universe, compared to the book and musical however, this is Dorothy's perspective, she really thought she was a wicked witch, so this movie was through her eyes. I bet if it was Galinda's perspective she would see her as a nicer person. Thats why she didn't even look at Elphaba as intimidating, she's like "Whatever Elphie stop picking on the new kid."

  • Comment removed

  • Sigh...I feel so sad for Elphaba.

  • "I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!"

I have never forgotten that quote, and I like it. It's pretty awesome, too. :)

  • 1:32

  • Poor Elphie..So misunderstood

  • All for a pair of shoes...

  • The weirdest feeling is watching this and Wicked in the same day. Wow, this bitch can sing.

  • ELPHIE!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

  • beasta

  • Check out the Secrets of OZ video on youtube!

  • Thank you, Wicked, for making me see through Elphie's disposition in this movie, and end up rooting for her in the end. :3

  • I'm using this as a tool to practice Glinda's sweet voice. I love Glinda because she seems really sweet and innocent but has some ulterior motives. I mean she's a little bit evil making Dorothy run around doing errands and fighting bad guys for her thinking it will help her get home until Glinda turns around and says "Oh,Like, all you had to do was tap your heels three times."

  • Am I the only one who thinks the Wicked Witch is kind of hot?

  • i am watching dis b cuz i got the part of the wicked witch of the west in my wizard of oz show.

  • For those of you who don't know this the actress who played the witch used to be a kindergarden teacher.

  • Would The Dark Lord Voldermort like the ruby slippers ?

  • oh my... the wicked witch has to admit it looks great on dorothy! i mean she wore the right outfit for it!

  • I don't know, but that entrance she makes when she breaks up their stupid midget party is about as badass as it gets.

  • @RecklessYouth333 I think her exit is alos badass. I often want to leave a lame party the same way.

  • Am...am I the only one getting the 'bitchy, manipulative ex-girlfriend' vibe from Glinda here? Like, she is taking obscene pleasure from the Witch's humiliation and grief, and to hell with the petrified young girl she should be looking after.

Just...dude. DUDE. I ruined my own childhood here.

  • @DocWyrd Even when I was a kid I used to think, "Great, Glinda, way to piss off the witch who's already pissed off."

  • This is the best Hollywood witch in history. Nobody ever played a better witch.

  • stupid farm girl. give elphaba the shoes!

  • Yep, she was badly burned. She disappears from the set via a trapdoor, with the action disguised by the red smoke screen which rises before the flame. The sequence was supposed to be smoke-drop-flame, but thru a timing goofup ended up being smoke-flame-drop. That put the fire on her ass! Hamilton was in recovery for nearly 2-months and when she came back to work on the movie she refused to have anything else to do with fire. That's the way I remember it anyway.

  • dorothy is a two time murderer of colored people, a broom stealer and a crooked land deleloper, she parked her trashy house into the countryside and no doubt will turn the witches estate into a mini mall.. but ain't that just like white people (LOL)

  • @etrax2000 Except for one teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny detail. Dorothy didn't murder anyone.

  • @Himaryous INVOLUNTARY WITCH SLAUGHTER ? MISS DOROTHY and her gang entered the haunted forrest armed to the hilt with weapons to kill the witch, who at that time was in her own home mindng her own business, no doubt taking care of her servant problems and trying to keep up with the latest technology in witchery. when dorothy, who illegally took possesion of property that was rightfully belonging to a close relative of the recently deceased, namely a sister. Judge.. I rest my case.

  • shes just mad because gandalf cheated on her

  • my friends great-grandmother was Margaret Hamiltons roommate, and she came to her house on halloween and scared my friends grandfather!! pretty cool story huh?? its all true :)

  • Not gonna lie, I wish Margaret Hamilton got nominated for a Supporting Actress Academy Award in 1939.. one of, if not, the best movie bad girl!

  • okay, she doesn't seem so bad after all these years. oh elphaba, they're just shoes I mean give them up woman! haha, lol i love that line.

  • "What is so important about the Ruby Slippers that the Witch is begging for?"

Elphie (I call her that, due to Wicked being based on this movie, as both a prequel and continuation, confirmed by Gregory Maguire himself) wanted the shoes, because of their power. Sure, they came from her holier-than-thou uppity sister, but she really didn't give two flips about that. She did, however, care that Nessarose entrusted the shoes to her, yet Glinda goes and gives them to Dorothy!

  • I love the WWotW she's my favorite movie villain eva! I was her three times in a row for Halloween until my mom made me be soemthing else lol. I always loved how she vanished in fire at the end I always thought that was so badass.

  • I think the W. W. of the W. would have looked silly in those ruby slippers. Definitely would clash with her outfit.

  • im not sure why im watching this the wicked witch of the west gives me nightmares

  • calm down everybody this movie was made in the 30s... you have got to admit it is very well made for being made in the 30s

  • One of the greatest scenes of hollywood.

  • One of the truest classics. So many great lines.

"The Wicked Witch is dead! Hail Dorothy!"

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

"How about a little fire Scarecrow?"

"I'll see you get to the Wizard, let her try to stuff a mattress out of me!"

    "Beehive, huh."

"There's only one thing I want you fellas to do...TALK ME OUT OF IT!"

  • anyone notice at 0:45 when the slippers dissapear and the legs go inside the house the wicked witch of the west randomly pops up out of nowhere into the scene

  • EHHH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH! Shut up ugly green hag.

  • 0:48 Does anyone else notice she appears out of nowhere, the feet don't finish going back into the house, and the background looks like she's in front of a giant tv screen?

  • I remember watching this scene when I was 5. My dad stuck his finger up my asshole and made me taste my shit. It tasted fabulous, by the way.

  • @SMurphy810 Where do you see "Elphie"?

  • The scariest , most frightenig movie witch EVER! If she doesn`t creep you out, you`re dead.

  • damn, dorothy looked darn good in those ruby slippers! :D

  • If Osama bin Laden was the Wicked Witch of the Middle East, who's the real Wicked Witch of the West?

  • @tejojo Who knows? I just have a bad feeling that this is going to escalate things... but I really hope they don't!

  • @tejojo Im guessing Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann.

  • @tejojo Either Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer or Patty Murray.

  • @tejojo Justin Bieber HAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • @tejojo bush or palin

  • @tejojo Casey Anthony is the wicked witch of the west. LOL.

  • @tejojo George Bush Jr.

  • half expecting this to happen during the president's speech tonight

  • I saw this for the first time on TV when I was ten, and the Witch scared the holy hell out of me. Even scarier was the scene with the flying monkeys descending on Dorothy and her friends.

  • the munchkins and the wicked witch of the west really creep me out...... They all have good voices though! My school did this play last week

  • The wicked witch sure does know how to make an Entrance!!! AND Exit for that matter. I love how she comes on the scene and stops and scares everybody.

  • This is NOT Wicked. Wicked has nothing to do with this movie. This was made over 50 years before Wicked was ever conceived. STOP comparing this to Wicked.

  • @TravisTylerBlack: Wicked is BASED ON this movie and Elphie based on Margaret Hamilton's portrayal, so make of that what you will.

  • Elphaba.

  • 1:18 "Begone, before someone drops a house on you too!"

*ominous music, witch looks up with sudden fear as if Glinda meant it for real*

    She sure told her.

I also love "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!"

  • ehh, if you ask me the bitch got what was coming to her.

  • I would trade dorothy a pearl necklace for her ruby slippers.

  • She's the embodiment of supreme power and evil!

  • It's Elphaba!

  • I guarantee you viewers of youtube, someday there will be a remake of the Wizard of Oz....and it is going to be EPIC!!!

  • The Wicked Witch of the West Still scares to this day and i'm 17

  • Ok! Who invited my teacher to Munchkin land?

  • I THOUGHT U SAID SHE WAS DEAD... WORSE THAN THE OTHER 1... I DIDN'T MEET THE OTHER 1 U WICKED OLD WITCH... COMING DOWN HERE IN UR BUBBLE N THROWING THIS F#@KING PARADE 4 ME WHILE SHE'S STILL OUT THERE... U BETTER GET IN THAT BUBBLE OR I'LL POP IT MYSELF...

EDITED SCRIPT... LOL ... UR SOUTHY BOY... DONNIO

  • Thumbs up if you knew before i wrote this that she actually was burned horribly when she disappears in the smoke as she leaves.

  • @kickyabutt: On the SECOND take, though. This take from the film was the first take done and "ran like clockwork", according to Margaret Hamilton.

  • i have a request... somebody...

    listen 1:30 - 1:44

I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too! (laughs).. then screams and explodes???

Please make an animation of her saying that, then suddenly a flame thrower from team fortress 2 sets her ablaze and she explodes!

  • What is so important about the Ruby Slippers that the Witch is begging for?

  • @billruller They were her sisters. Watch Wicked. It explains so much

  • @sbt40 Wizard of Oz and Wicked are two different stories. In Wicked, Elphaba isn't really Wicked, and wanted the shoes because they were the only left of her sister. In The Wizard of Oz, the witch is truly evil, there wasn't a nice bone in her body and she could careless about animal rights lol and she wanted the shoes for their power. Don't get me wrong, I love love love both stories.

  • @lamarrs Yeah. They're completely different, but it gves you a reason to why shes wicked. And a completely different ending. I prefer Wicked. Elphaba.

  • ELPHY!!!!

  • I this this is the one character that EVERYONE is afraid of. I once played an audio clip of the laugh in the cafetria to see a response, and people screamed. Even the guys! This is that one character that we have envisioned as the the original villain, the first character of fiction that truely, deeply frightened us and still does to this very day.

  • Elphaba!:)

  • Elphaba and Glinda look nothing alike from their younger selves, do they?

  • Giving the girl Elphaba's dead sister's shoes...something tells me that Glinda's sleeping on the couch tonight.

  • Now let's go check out my real closet the shoes up against the wall toes up like

Looks like two wicked witches that had houses dropped on them, hit the dislike button.thenosespariswhitneyhilton january nineth two thousand elevendorthyes

Looks like two wicked witches that had houses dropped on them, hit the dislike

Now let's go check out my real closet the shoes up against the wall toes up like

    0:14

  • Looks like two wicked witches that had houses dropped on them, hit the dislike button.

  • You tell her Elphie!!!

  • The Witch of the West is hot. I suspect she has both a penis and a vagina. I often fantasize about a threesome with these three, with the witch doing Dorothy in the butt.

  • this is my favorite movie of all time but this scene scared me sooo much when i was little

  • That laugh right before she leaves used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid.... but it's still one of my favorite movies!

  • did you know that where she poped up there was a trap door to get up when the smoke came up haha i look on this show :D

  • Comment removed

  • i am glinda right now in my show(: its so fun!

  • Glinda was beautiful! Wow! She can give me a pair ot ruby slippers any day!!

  • @bjoh249 The actress playing Glinda Billie Burke was in her mid 50's at the time the movie was made. Margaret Hamilton, the Wicked Witch, was in her mid 30's. Both lovely, classy, talented ladies =D

  • The Wizard Of Oz is a priceless piece in movie history.

  • wait, they were carrying guns, so if a house could squash one, wouldn't a headshot work too?

  • @ultamentgear183 Yeah but if that person had dangerous magic powers and used their power maliciously, would you take that chance lol

  • One of the most classic movie quotes: "I'll get you my pretty! And your little dog too!!!"

  • And so Dorothy becomes embroiled into the politics of Oz. Gee Thanks! I like the fact that the two witches in this scene speak on a first-name basis! There will never, ever, be a better Wicked Witch of the West than Margaret Hamilton! Judy Garland's dress presses her boobs to make her look younger.

  • @Stevis82 I know I love the interaction between Glinda and Elphaba in this scene! I wish they had more scenes together in the film. Margaret and Billie rocked!

  • The witch made the movie interesting for me.

She's my absolute favorite character in this <3

  • @WickeDisneyVillian She's my fave to! I was her for Halloween 2 years in a row when I was younger and I'm a boy lol. Her, the Evil Queen in Snow White, Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty, Ursula in Little Mermaid and the White Witch in Narnia are my favorite villainesses ever!

  • @WinterWonder99 Oh I love Maleficent! She's amazing. I tend to go for the villians in movies. Then after her would have to be Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

  • @WickeDisneyVillian Me to I loove evil witches the most hence why they are all my faves lol.

  • i've always loved the wicked witch of the west's entrance! everybody is all happy and singing and then BOOM she comes and stops everything.

  • @WH012 I know! It's awesome!! XD

  • @bcraig5 I dont think it was really purposeful on either accounts...

  • i wanna do dorothy and the white witch!

  • I never liked ths movie when I was little, and I can't say I ever will after seeing Wicked and all. I feel bad for not liking a classic but I could never find it in myself to like the thing xD

  • wefwuicvbp;iw

  • I love this movie but honestly youtube why do you have to put all of these advertisements?

  • @talkingmonkeys101:

So they can make money, duh. Do you expect sites this massive to maintain themselves? Running sites this massive can cost massive money.

  • i love the wizard of oz! saw the play just yesterday! amazing! xo

  • I think I've seen this movie 50 times and I am still not tired of it. It is truly an immortal classic, the one and only.

  • guy please dont argue with the troll he/she/or whatever it is only wants attention probably trying to compensate for the fact it fails in real life

    how sad =(

  • "screaming little brat takes a dead woman's shoe MUST A BEEN RAISED IN A BARN"

I just came for watching wicked and eveytime I see dorothy that line pops up in my head

    Team ELPHIE

  • hey, if my sister was killed because dorothy's house fell on her, i'd kill dorothy too. can't say that witch didn't have a motive.

  • Margaret Hamilton caught on fire in one of those takes.

  • This makes soooooo much more sense after seeing Wicked!

  • @TheTrollAccount You're the reason the world's so messy.

  • @TheTrollAccount I get the whole Troll Account
