  • I never heard about DJ Kool Herc until I saw History Detectives the other day (I love hip-hop, but I hardly have my finger on the pulse of the scene ^__^).

Anyhow, this is really awesome that DJ Kool Herc and 1520 Sedgwick Avenue were recognized like this. It's a testament to the spirit of diversity we have in the New York City region, as well as, the impact that Hip-Hop has had (which isn't as negative as some would want one to believe).

  • DJ Kool HERC gave me a copy of the ORIGINAL Tribute! I AM BLESSED. THE FATHER OF HIP HOP!

  • The man i the suit who claim he 'brags' that hiphop started in the BX, I think is bullshittin'; hip hop isn't something they're proud of. Mad luv the DJ Kool Herc, Flash and all the rest that give birth to this artform.

    One Luv.

    DJ Skillz (wheelz of Steel)
