I have had many many surgeries and I had never had dreams I just felt the roller coaster feeling as I was being put under that's it but the surgery I had to have an abcess removed I not only dreamed I felt like I died and went to heaven because I remember so much peace that wasn't the normal anesthesia feeling and as I woke up I heard angels singing and I sung with them so when I came to my doctors were wheeling me out of the OR and they were surprised that I was singing lol beautiful :)
Does propofol really give you dreams? In about 1 week I'm having surgery, so if it really have you dreams I might ask for that cause then it might be more like sleeping.
@JJJUBFFS dude is like a small nap when you fall asleep unconsciously you dont feel nothing i had teeth surgery today i was a little scared . but when i woke up i was like whatttt is that all. you couldve been kicked in the balls and you didnt feel a thing.just one thing and keep it calm ..think of everything will be fine there is nothing to be scared of .me i didnt get dreams .it was just a short surgery.it depends on how much they last and keep u asleep.good luck mate
i had surgery in june for endometriosis ( a disease that affects the female reproductive system. google it or look it up on here). the surgery is called a laparoscopy and i knew exactly when i was going to go to sleep because the anesthesiologist told me and when i was in recovery, the nurse told me the surgery was over. i couldn't believe how fast it all went. it was a minor 30-minute operation.
@MissMaddy881 I had to get a operation because i had bone fragments stuck in my knee joint. I remember seeing the anesthesia going down the tube and into my arm, after that i lasted about 3 seconds before i awoke. it felt like i blinked,
@NAVYWIFEONE FatherPatOphelia has been following me around on videos i've commented on, saying stupid stuff or calling me stupid. he started all that.
@txturtlelytiger That happened to me when I went under for my surgery a few months back. Next thing you know, I was in the recovery room :-D I kept asking my mom if the surgery was over alot of times :P
I had GA last week to have my wisdom teeth removed, and I remember every little thing >< I was terrified so I was almost in tears, I remember trying to grab my mum's hand when the stuff started to kick in and make my throat go all funny, and then next thing I know i've got a great big oxygen mask over my face xD
I had GA once and i didn't remember any of it, i remember being given something to relax my muscles and the GA being injected but nothing after that. Waking up after is was vile, my sinuses were affected in the surgery and since I've had the sensation of cold air being blown up my nose, it's horrible. I never really want GA again if possible :L
I would have gone crazy and killed everyone in that room for even thinking of doing that to me. I wouldnt have cared if i died I would take them with me
i dont remember him putting the anaethetic, only waking up in recovery was horrible enough! my bloody heart rate went so low they had to keep defibralators by my bed! :|
iv been under 3 times in hospital, only recall the injection and a grotty taste b4 i fell asleep.if i had seen a mask for anesthetic gases id have jumped off the trolley!
@AveRyMcSTeeZ Intravenous anesthetics are much more common than inhaled ones in surgical practices. It's the only type I've received prior to surgery, and certainly a more reliable and safe method.
@witzig89 No, they aren't. The intravenous agent is used to produce a rapid onset of anaesthesia and the inhaled gases are used to maintain anaesthesia. All to do with solubility and diffusion characteristics etc. I'm sure no-one here remembers having a tube being stuck down their throat either :)
I was looking forward to this (not my surgery, but the IV) and it was my first time going under. I was actually excited and not nervous. mine was even quicker haha probably about 15 seconds from when my surgeon popped the tube thing to me just going out like a log. haha so awesome and fun
I had surgery 5 weeks ago. The anaesthetic was definitely the best part of the whole process. I've no recollection of falling to sleep - but i do remember a couple of minutes in a restful half asleep/half awake state before I fully woke up. Nothing at all to be scared about.
@mandolinic I had surgery a few weeks ago myself and I can vagly remember them putting a oxygen mask over me a min or two before they injected me with medicine then before I knew it I was waking up in recovery
@scarleypops Like I mentioned in some comments, I don't remember a whole lot about my surgery, except for being given some oxygen to breathe and stuff like that before I did get knocked out, OK?
It just took me one second to be totally knocked out. The next thing I knew, I was being woken up. I had a 3 hour surgery as well. Was totally easy, stayed asleep the whole time. No worries. But my throat was numb when I woke up, felt like I couldn't breath. But the doc said I was breathing fine. I was very thirsty after surgery for some reason too.
@MEH56 i had general anaesthetic on tuesday, you wont notice it, you'll go dizzy, but by the time you know that youre dizzy, youre already knocked out!
I haven't watched this video since a few months back when I was going to go under for wisdom teeth extraction... You fell asleep fast! Took me at least a couple minutes. Thanks again for the video
Small doses of the Propofol gives you that drunk delirious feeling just before induction. Good for you, you were super brave. Better than I was, I needed 3mg of Ativan before going under >.>
I'm getting all four wisdom teeth taken out this Friday and the doc is recommending general anasthesia... Thanks for the video! I'm kinda nervous about it but I figure I won't remember it anyway so who cares
I got all 4 out too and they used general anaesthetic. All I remember was the following:
1) needle went in arm
2) We talked for a minute or two
3) the doctors put a tube over my nose for oxygen
4) they asked: "How are you feeling?"...I'm feeling just gre...".
That's when I passed out from it. I woke up what felt like 5 minutes to them saying I was done and I didn't remember what happened before the surgery for atleast 2 days.
@markbundles2 Haha you remember a lot more than I did. All I remember is the needle going on, then I said I was feeling kinda cold, then the doctor walked in and said good morning. Next thing I know I'm sitting in a recovery room next to my mom. The nurse was standing in front of me talking to my mom and I just stood up and gave the nurse a huge hug and wouldn't let go. I was just so drugged up and happy. Didn't remember that till hours later that day. Crazy how everything was such a blur
