  • That was a propofol.

  • @NAVYWIFEONE Is your caps lock button broken?

  • i had surgery in june for endometriosis ( a disease that affects the female reproductive system. google it or look it up on here). the surgery is called a laparoscopy and i knew exactly when i was going to go to sleep because the anesthesiologist told me and when i was in recovery, the nurse told me the surgery was over. i couldn't believe how fast it all went. it was a minor 30-minute operation.

  • @MissMaddy881 I had to get a operation because i had bone fragments stuck in my knee joint. I remember seeing the anesthesia going down the tube and into my arm, after that i lasted about 3 seconds before i awoke. it felt like i blinked,

  • @updisho wow, sounds like you had a lot of pain. i hope you're ok now.

  • @NAVYWIFEONE FatherPatOphelia has been following me around on videos i've commented on, saying stupid stuff or calling me stupid. he started all that.

  • when i was in recovery i was shaking like really bad from that :P

  • I found waldo though

  • It's so scarey and dangerous :(

  • @FrankIeroiscute ...Without it, you would go into shock from surgery

  • @FrostyGerman couldn't they just sedate you and numb the area there operating on.

  • @FrankIeroiscute No, your body would still react to whatever area is being operated on. Its your brain thats reacting to it, not yourself.

  • i remember that, you never know when exactly you fell asleep.

  • @txturtlelytiger That happened to me when I went under for my surgery a few months back. Next thing you know, I was in the recovery room :-D I kept asking my mom if the surgery was over alot of times :P

  • when i went under for my wisdom teeth it was fast to. they did it in the junction of my arm and before i knew it i was out like a light

  • I had GA last week to have my wisdom teeth removed, and I remember every little thing >< I was terrified so I was almost in tears, I remember trying to grab my mum's hand when the stuff started to kick in and make my throat go all funny, and then next thing I know i've got a great big oxygen mask over my face xD

  • I had tonsils out i remember just going in and lying on table but this was 7 years ago

  • Just like cassandranicole13 u

  • I had GA once and i didn't remember any of it, i remember being given something to relax my muscles and the GA being injected but nothing after that. Waking up after is was vile, my sinuses were affected in the surgery and since I've had the sensation of cold air being blown up my nose, it's horrible. I never really want GA again if possible :L

  • holy crap that was fast?

  • Its crazy how fast this stuff works!!! Went uder yesterday! It burns tho :/

  • @shecklergirl92 really? why does it burn?

  • I'm going under GA to have my fingers reset tomorrow. I'm actually quite excited!

  • did u resist at all?

  • I would have gone crazy and killed everyone in that room for even thinking of doing that to me. I wouldnt have cared if i died I would take them with me

  • i dont remember him putting the anaethetic, only waking up in recovery was horrible enough! my bloody heart rate went so low they had to keep defibralators by my bed! :|

  • iv been under 3 times in hospital, only recall the injection and a grotty taste b4 i fell asleep.if i had seen a mask for anesthetic gases id have jumped off the trolley!

  • @Amandamoo73 The mask is actually just for oxygen.

  • @witzig89 the mask can be for oxygen, and also anesthetic gases if not sedated by injection.

  • @AveRyMcSTeeZ Intravenous anesthetics are much more common than inhaled ones in surgical practices. It's the only type I've received prior to surgery, and certainly a more reliable and safe method.

  • @witzig89 because the mask is more common for children.

  • @witzig89 No, they aren't. The intravenous agent is used to produce a rapid onset of anaesthesia and the inhaled gases are used to maintain anaesthesia. All to do with solubility and diffusion characteristics etc. I'm sure no-one here remembers having a tube being stuck down their throat either :)

  • Im getting this to have teeth removed as iv sedation didnt work.

  • I was gone in two seconds, and i can remember everything but my operation was on my teeth and it only lasted ten minutes

  • I was looking forward to this (not my surgery, but the IV) and it was my first time going under. I was actually excited and not nervous. mine was even quicker haha probably about 15 seconds from when my surgeon popped the tube thing to me just going out like a log. haha so awesome and fun

  • Amazing how fast Propofol can take effect!

  • Going under tomorrow for the first time. Can't really imagine what it will be like!

  • I had surgery 5 weeks ago. The anaesthetic was definitely the best part of the whole process. I've no recollection of falling to sleep - but i do remember a couple of minutes in a restful half asleep/half awake state before I fully woke up. Nothing at all to be scared about.

  • @mandolinic I had surgery a few weeks ago myself and I can vagly remember them putting a oxygen mask over me a min or two before they injected me with medicine then before I knew it I was waking up in recovery

  • I was under general anesthetic for my surgery Monday, and I hardly remember a thing in the OR except for them strapping me down to the table.

  • @DeadRaymanWalking strapping u down ? OMG i only went under once to have 6 teeth taken out!!

  • @scarleypops Well, they do that to be sure you don't fall off the table.

  • @DeadRaymanWalking really? what in case you like rolled about on the table when you were asleep?

  • @scarleypops Beats me.

  • @DeadRaymanWalking ?????????

  • @scarleypops Like I mentioned in some comments, I don't remember a whole lot about my surgery, except for being given some oxygen to breathe and stuff like that before I did get knocked out, OK?

  • @DeadRaymanWalking ok ok calm down anyways i had a injection i think

  • Before they put me under they kept on asking me questions. I felt like I was just floating away... ;P

  • It just took me one second to be totally knocked out. The next thing I knew, I was being woken up. I had a 3 hour surgery as well. Was totally easy, stayed asleep the whole time. No worries. But my throat was numb when I woke up, felt like I couldn't breath. But the doc said I was breathing fine. I was very thirsty after surgery for some reason too.

  • FATALITY

  • ouch nice needle in chest if you will

  • im having back surgery on friday and obviously ill be underr general anethesia, but this kinda prepares mer for what to expect

  • @MEH56 i had general anaesthetic on tuesday, you wont notice it, you'll go dizzy, but by the time you know that youre dizzy, youre already knocked out!

  • wow i forgot everything tht happened when i had my teeth out

  • Argghh !! Cringe!!

  • I haven't watched this video since a few months back when I was going to go under for wisdom teeth extraction... You fell asleep fast! Took me at least a couple minutes. Thanks again for the video

  • You can see the anaesthetic kick in at 0:20 - What did you have done?? x

  • Comment removed

  • Small doses of the Propofol gives you that drunk delirious feeling just before induction. Good for you, you were super brave. Better than I was, I needed 3mg of Ativan before going under >.>

  • I'm getting all four wisdom teeth taken out this Friday and the doc is recommending general anasthesia... Thanks for the video! I'm kinda nervous about it but I figure I won't remember it anyway so who cares

  • @10forRP

I got all 4 out too and they used general anaesthetic. All I remember was the following:

    1) needle went in arm

    2) We talked for a minute or two

    3) the doctors put a tube over my nose for oxygen

    4) they asked: "How are you feeling?"...I'm feeling just gre...".

That's when I passed out from it. I woke up what felt like 5 minutes to them saying I was done and I didn't remember what happened before the surgery for atleast 2 days.

  • @markbundles2 Haha you remember a lot more than I did. All I remember is the needle going on, then I said I was feeling kinda cold, then the doctor walked in and said good morning. Next thing I know I'm sitting in a recovery room next to my mom. The nurse was standing in front of me talking to my mom and I just stood up and gave the nurse a huge hug and wouldn't let go. I was just so drugged up and happy. Didn't remember that till hours later that day. Crazy how everything was such a blur

  • Omg, i never knew it worked so quick!
