Love all those songs. Wish they'd do a Fear to Eternity tour. Playing songs like Holy Smoke, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, No Prayer For The Dying, From Here To Eternity and Sign Of The Cross.
@czw321 yes ofcourse!..my favorite is though wasting love..i also like Bruce's solo work...and especially the "acoustic song", which speaks to my heart, its so beautiful ..
@lionnew Even though it was a UFO cover Doctor Doctor is another. My favorite song of that style is Evil That Men Do though. But my overall favorite song is Infinite Dreams now that song speaks to me. The entire Seventh Son Of a Seventh Son album was phenomenal its my favorite after Piece Of Mind.
@czw321 u have a great taste mate!! My favorite song from IM is from the Piece of Mind album, which is the "Revelations"..Now my favorite album, is the Number of the Beast, for many reasons..First, it has many great songs, second, it was the start of what we see today, u know, it was the album where Bruce did his debut (without ofcourse reducing Paul' Di'Anno s contribution which was great)..and third, we share the same birthday..it was released on March 29, 1982 : ))
@lionnew Honestly my fave from Piece is between Trooper and Revelations. Now Revelations was a song that spoke to me as well. Real beautiful poetry in that song. Other songs I like are Clairvoyant, Fear Of The Dark, Pashendale, Benjamin Breeg and Starblind.
@czw321 yeah, i couldnt agree more!! also afraid to shoot strangers, blood brothers, the evil than men do, wicker man, aces high, Alexander the Great, etc..hmm, i think the list will never end, lol..cause they are fuckin GREAT!! : D..Looking forward for their new album..any news about the 2012 tour?? i have checked the IM site, but, the picture is kinda blurry yet..
the European tour coming up with all the Festivals they're headlining ....Imagine even being a roadie on that tour.......... I'd lick the outside of Ed Force One clean with my tongue after flying over China to go on that ..........
@turboneger lool ive seen all sorts of *** stage dive on their concerts, crutches, wooden legs, all sorts of bizarre objects, Up d irons, metal up ur ass
every one of their live albums has its specialties... Rock In Rio has a modern touch, Live After Death is simply classic, as the 1982-1984 albums... Maiden England is quite artistic... but i think their finest is Flight 666... just my 2 cents
As tours go Seventh tour of a Seventh tour was Maiden at their peak. Performance wise, music selection, ability of the band, band camaraderie, atmosphere, stage show and all this coming together at the height of their popularity and the height of metal itself. As much as I love the new tours Seventh tour was just breathtaking. Their peak artistic period ended after this tour because they were just too powerful. Thankfully we have the reunion but this tour is unparalleled.
@rufus566 I honestly hope they choose to base their next history tour around this, not the '92 donington show cause I totally agree with you! The last history tour was the best heavy concert I've ever seen, but there were elements missing from this album (and SIT, really). Fans would LOVE to hear Seventh Son, Infinite dreams, but also Caugth somewhere in time and Stranger again. Oh, and they should play Alexander the great :p If they include that in a set-list, I don't care about the rest!
I really, really wish they would re-mix, re-master and re-release this video on official DVD/Blu-Ray. The sound is way too thin. Hardly any bass-frequences.
Amazing, takes me back to good days!! They just dont make bands like this anymore.....;-\ From Nico mcbrain to steve harris bass to Bruce Dicckinsons voice, Dave murray and Adrian smith....timeless and awesome.
well after watshing some show now, i have to say, maiden have more energy in the early days. now that are great but i miss this energy that they clearly show here.
now dont get me wrong its a very good bass line but when i was asked to cover it im like oh shit i cant play steve harris but this is actually one of his easier songs...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I don't specially like Maiden. Don't kill me if I say this but I find most of their music bit of childish or lame. But at the late 80's they recorded some great songs. This is definitely one of those.
I agree that Maiden could play without Janick STILL I disagree when people say he should get kicked or leave the band - he has been in maiden for many years and I appreciate him very much (he wrote some kickass songs like dance of death or dream of mirrors for example). He is in maiden family for ever now, period
And also...The fact that you can play it at the same speed means that "it's not that fast"? So you think that you are so fuckin' slow to play something "so fast" or what?
@Xiolablu3 I believe that he is a bored character if you know what I mean. he doesn't like to study others' techniques that's why he used to fuck up all Adrian's solos in the 90s. On the other hand I admire his work on wasting love (solo) and dance of death which shows that he can do great things when he wants to.. but on stage he sucks..
@adrianlazlow2352 Totally agreed. Another problem with Jannick is that his style is similar IMHO to Dave Murrays, and so with Adrian not playing, there is definitely something vital missing in the Maiden sound.
Dave + Adrian = godlike
Dave + Jannick = OK ish but nothing special.
Maiden need Adrian for his precise and clean sound. Of course all my Opinion only.
It is released on DVD, but it's "currently unavaible" at every shop, I thin :(
Maiden England is very good footage! Bruce doesn't sing so good, but the stage show is the best Maiden show ever! And they played lot of rare and fuckign good songs like The Prisoner, Moonchild, Infinite Dreams, Seventh Son, Still Life or Killers.
Love all those songs. Wish they'd do a Fear to Eternity tour. Playing songs like Holy Smoke, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, No Prayer For The Dying, From Here To Eternity and Sign Of The Cross.
