If people like this song, I respect that. But personally I think they were right to shelf this one: very, very, overtreaded ground for their sound, and pretty much within the bounds of "crap". Its not a horrible song, but if they released this one it likely wouldve killed any promise of versatility and many people wouldve bailed out on them before "Yesterday" was released.

These are two different artists almost, one set before Sgt. Pepper, and one after.

@worldcitizenforever I couldn't help but notice your picture ID was of In the Court of the Crimson King, which is an extremely good album. Compare 21st Century Schizoid Man with Helter Skelter: they are both on the surface, very "hard" songs, or another way to say it is, they both "rock". "21st" is more immediately recognizable as a complex tune, with more parts, BUT for the most part, it follows 12 bar blues form, and rarely uses tones outside of the minor pentatonic blues scale.
