It is possible to do that without a firearm? Certainly. Providing that one has the training and physical abilities to do so. But just like it is possible to pick up dog poop with your bare hands, it is better to use gloves, bag or other tool to keep it off you or at a distance.

Actually the answer is, No. A firearm is basicly a tool. When responsibly used it is there to prevent a danger from causing harm. Be it from an animal or a criminal. It is possible to do that without a firearm? Certainly. Providing that one has the training and physical abilities to do so. But just like it is possible to pick up dog poop with your bare hands, it is better to use gloves, bag or other tool to keep it off you or at a distance.

Yes, that is one of the reasons. See Katie in the video for an example. If 2 or 3 men wanted to have their way with her, she is probably not 'strong enough' to prevent them. A gun levels the playing field. A gun does not guarantee a preferred outcome, but I would bet she would have better odds if she was packing than if she wasn't.

Criminals would still have guns, and still use them knowing that you won't have one to defend yourself. . This has been proven in every country.
