Oprah’s kinda like that teacher everyone had growing up; middle aged, single, slightly off. She thought she was really funny because she was willing to act kinda nuts, but not in a good way. You could never predict what kind of mood she’d be in on any given day. Nobody really found her funny, but they humored her because once in a while she’d show up with cupcakes or something (or Seinfeld DVDs). Yeah, that’s kinda what Oprah is like.

The amount of time devoted to advertisements on American television is wildly insane. Completely surreal. This programme was a lost opportunity to hear people talk but we got very little more that screaming, DVD promotions, clips, and ad breaks every four seconds which forced complete incoherence into the proceedings. Julia and Michael got to say almost nothing at all, and Jason just about managed to grab a couple of brief opportunities to speak. Pretty crass and discourteous programme-making.
