The very advanced visual culture that was achieved in middle age Europe (and Asia) had to be destroyed. The group who took over pictorial art as well as music in the early to mid-20th century, redefined those two arts for very clear political purposes. As a result, Art in the 21st century has no meaning whatsoever. It’s WHO promotes it, WHO sells it, WHO markets it, WHO appoints the "experts" that tells us what Beauty is. I expose that in my "Art" video.
great film but why the fuck did they cast courtney fucking love the ugliest bitch ever that he cheats with, hes going out with claire forlani, CLAIRE FORLANI and he cheats with some skanky moustachioed bitch. i actually just stopped watching the film and paused it at the bit where he asks courtney if she would break his heart to write this. thank you

@fuckfuckfuckfuckfist shes been in movies before Hole, so id suggest you stop tracking down Courtney Love movies and videos to talk shit about her and get a life.. she was in this movie for one second.. lol
Hello Guys! I am looking for the name of a movie ( I think it's east european) about a painter who is contracted to paint a family, but then he discovers things about a dead boy son of the mother who tries to hide it...anyone know which movie is that? I think there's winter in the middle of the name! Thanks
To~ Sagastinho : The song at 1:16-1:21 is called "White Lines" by uummm... i think Grand Master Flash and the Funk. It's in the credits/soundtrack for this film.
at 1:01 is called 'M' from the 80s...you were likely in diapers kiddo...but that was a popular tune at clubs where i attended from time to time...in the heady 80s..
there has never been a film that has touched me like this film has. i ran away to LA in 96 when i was 15 and i saw this movie. it changed my life. i miss those days.
basquiat changed my life as well, not the movie but the artist himself, i studyied him all throughout high school and now going into an art university he is my number one influence, he was an excellent man its a shame he had to die when he did
seriously basqauit could have been a great artist instead people focus on his crap paintings, and he is now known as a crap painter. but to the MODERN ARTISTS he is great.. this coming from the public that thinks a guy shoving paint up his ass and shitting it out onto canvas is true art!
"and he is now known as a crap painter" Yeah, by who? Here in NYC he is quite well regarded, shows of his art are still prominent and very well attended.
By who? Delphia, Mark Ryden, me, Sas Christian, Todd Schorr, Anthony Ausgang, Bougerou, Ingres(if they were alive), Blood Artist, Gidget Gein, Robert Williams, Cliint Carney, Salvador Dali, Pooch, KRK Ryden, etc. in other words REAL artists, who do REAL art.
and WHY are they prominent and very well attended? simple. people love fads, i mean hell the worlds biggest cheeto and the virgin mary pancake get many visitors a day. does that mean they are great works of art?
First of all, what is art? You can't answer. I like Ryden & Dali, some of the others are comic book artists in my opinion but I don't deflate their talent. I agree with the cheetoh comment, then again, opinions are merely opinions. I don't care for Pollock, Rothko, and Warhol. I truly can't stand them, yet I don't say it constantly because I can't deny that their work truly created something in the culture, I can see it. Discrediting Basquiat because it's an opinion is ignorant. Art=Expression.
gran soundtrack, magnifica pelicula...ufff toda una joya, Basquiat un excelente artista ... honor a quien honor merece, pelicula, reparto, actores, director... apabullante.
How fitting that David Bowie is Andy Warhol. With Gary Oldman thrown in for good measure. FIRST CLASS CASTING.

@traenenspur That's correct. I'm from Europe and i had French lessons, I can assure you that you should pronounce Basquiat without a "t".
