If the Nazi government believed that business "belongs to the state", they sure didn't act on that belief. If the Nazi government believed that business "belongs to the state", they sure didn't act on that belief. FACT: The average annual budget deficit during President George W. Bush's presidency was $250.7 billion. obama's annual deficits are $1.416 TRILLION and $1.502 TRILLION, for just 2 years!

Stupidest thing I've read in a long time. What is a republican? Well, I sure some of your neighbors. Are you just against people that think that there are better ways to solve problems than just growing government and spending money (that they didn't make)? That seems narrow minded. Do you like corrupt congressmen? Rangle: owes $2M in taxes, or Frank/Dodd: overseers of Fan and Freddie?

Republicans love Ronald Reagan because he reduced any modern rational into a fundamental ideal. That simplification turned complex thought into "great communication". Like his idea of planting laser beams in space to inhibit Soviet air strikes, the reality was the Soviet Union was starving themselves out. Reagan walked around telling everyone he defeated the Soviets, but in fact he put the U.S. on the same road of starvation. Now we are in debt to China like the USSR becoming has beens.

But, I do think that the bigger government gets (and the smaller the private sector gets), the less 'wealthy" our country gets.

Percent of GDP really means nothing. During Clinton's last term there was the Tech-Bubble crash meaning GDP numbers were inflated.
Democrats could not even win a 3rd term after Clinton because Tech-Bubble crash caused a recession.
Clinton is the reason why there is no more baby-boomers money. Clinton is also a major reason for this current recession.

Economic crises are crises of insufficient consumption and occur when income distribution tilts strongly in favor of the higher income groups.
The free market solution to falling incomes for lower income groups was the expansion of consumer credit. It worked at the beginning as any Ponzi scheme would. Sooner or later, falling disposable income for most people (in part due to higher interest payments) will catch up with you and the house of cards comes down.
