I've been a firefighter for over 8 years and have participated in several of the mock accidents at the local high school. I have to say this is one of the most thorough and impacting videos I have seen. Yet, year after year, some of the very faces I saw in the crowd of the mock accident, I saw again on prom night....it truly is sad.

this was always hard to see while in school. the program is great but it wasn't easy to watch...and hearing the stories of people who have been effected by it was just as hard.

Most phenomenal program ever. My daughter participated in this event. It has forever changed our lives. Just the thought of losing my child to such a tragic accident was more than I could bear. The kids had to write a good bye letter to their families and when we read it, it really hit home. I love you Candice and am glad that you are still here with us. Thanks to the people of Montgomery County who have taken the time to educate us on the dangers of drinking and driving.

@KudoKaitou That's one way to view it; they did make that wrong decision, which I don't applaud them for in the least, but it still makes me sad to see people suffering. But more than that, I think of the INNOCENT people who are hurt in these types of accidents: the real victims who are hit by a drunk driver running a stop light or something like that. That was what I was mostly referencing when I said I felt bad that this happens every day, you know?

I agree! I remember that year in one of my classes, a girl was saying to another girl "I'm gonna get drunk on prom night and drive home." I couldn't tell if she was joking or not ( i sort of have an problem with that) and i had every intention of saying to her "How can u b so heartless!?" but I'm rather grateful I didn't. i cant even begin to tell you how this video is so true to life. Back when i was a senior in high school, myself and my friends were involved in a car accident where we were hit by a drunk driver. my self and the driver of the other car were the only survivors. there were 6 fatalities that horrific day. today i am a paramedic, and have to respond to calls like this quite often. it sickens me still. i know i wasnt at fault in the accident that took my friends from me, but this video brings back,

Im going to Oak Ridge High School next year and this is the program I've been wanting to be in since I was in 5th grade when I first heard about it. I think this program actually shows people what its like to whitness something as horrible as drinking and driving.

The point of this video is don't drink and drive! I was in a very serious accident and I thank god that I'm still alive! My mum and I were it by an 18 wheeler carrying 40 tonnes of steel! I felt as if someone was watching over us that day! Was I injured that day? Yes, and it wasn't due to alcohol!

I'm the father of a student who attended Montgomery High. This is a very emotional topic for both the school and the community of Montgomery. They lost 4 students last year in crashes. I watched the principal, Bobby Morris, make an announcement to a packed auditorium the night Sara Jane Hartnett was killed; it was gut-wrenching to witness. Pray our kids are protected from this kind of tragedy. Any educational event that warns kids of the dangers is worth the effort/cost to save their lives.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone gets so emotional about this: IT"S NOT A REAL CRASH! It's FAKE. Yes, losing your friends would be sad, and yes, it is extremely sad when something does happen... but this isn't real! Everyone even talks about it forever before they film it... and then people show up and cry all over the place.

I can understand if you've lost someone important to you, however... there's nothing wrong with that at all.

i was in this. omg it was so emotional.i can't even describe how hard it was to hear my parents crying as the nurses " tried to save my life". then to see my friends around me at the " accident" was horrible. seeing them all bloody and "mangled" was the worst thing ever. please please never drive drunk. I got my friends back, but if you are in a real crash, you might not. please don't drink and drive!

The point of these is to show people what CAN happen. I remember this, it started raining just 10 minutes into the parking lot mock-crashes. It almost made it more realistic because the fake red blood was running down the lot from the rain water... I was a sophomore when we did this, I'm deffinitly going to be in it my senior year. Don't drink and drive!!!!!
