You typically do not use gloves on rotating equipment. If your glove gets snagged it has the potential to pull you into the blade. On a tsaw the blade spins toward you but often the force you apply to the working piece is toward the blade. If glove material gets caught the combined vector of force is down & into the blade. Certainly you shouldn't be so close to allow this to happen BUT without the glove...bad cut & potential loss of digit. With the glove SEVERE injury to digit and arm.
I made a video about table saw safety and not using gloves is the main point that I cover. It is so easy to get tangled in the blade. It's just never done by anyone who's fortunate enough to get proper training. Seriously who hate to see anyone get hurt so please check out my video. thanks.
I've had the Bosch 4000 since it came out. No, it isn't a cabinet saw, but how many people have the room available for a stationary saw. I have made furniture with it and it does a reasonably good job. It's great for the hobbist.
Wow, I can't believe that 55,000 people can watch your video without letting you know that you should never, ever use gloves while operating table saws. I've worked with over 100 professional cabinetmakers and none would ever use gloves in the shop. You will get seriously hurt. I would hate to see you get hurt so please stop using the gloves.
in 13 and i got up today and said i wanted to make a toolbox so i went out to the garage got out this saw and some other tools and 4 hours later (with breaks for football) got 2 of them made this saw is amazing must have for any construction worker or anyone that wants to get the job done fast and right
I noticed people leaving comments about the fence not being square. The way it locks is adjustable (in the instructions). It took me a while to get mine locking square but now its perfect. Great saw!!
Bosch offers both a side extension table and outfeed table as accessories for this saw. While it may not be cabinet shop quality, it is the best of class for jobsite saws. The T-slot fence allows easy use of other accessories as well. A little TLC and good setup, it's even suitable for occasional cabinet job.
i had the first gen bosch ts4000, loved it. definatly was a workhorse. 8/4 maple, no problem. recently traded for a carpenter bench with 4 built in vices very h.d. good trade. Now i have a x5 unisaw, and a dedicated delta cabinet saw for dadoes only..... barely used, old model for 60 bucks. has the exact same table and fence and carriage as the old unisaws. almost 9 amps on 230v and 16.5 or so on 120
I would personaly chose a big heavey cast iron table saw rather than this but I don't know very much about bosch but the portable craftsman tablesaw I have isn't that great. (I plan on getting a more permanent one)
Well, this isn't a cabinet saw. As far as portable/contractor saws go this is one of the best. I've been using this saw for a couple of months now. It fits great into my TINY basement shop and is easy to take outside. However, it is not without its faults. The blade guard is fiddly and bulky, which inevitably results in its being removed for many jobs. The rip fence is hard to keep square. I did not get the digital carriage as I do not see the point. The stand is convenient, but not great
I totally agree with you. Many people has missed the point!.. It is a portable saws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. From what i know, this is a very good portable saw. Built more solid that Rigid one.
And Bosch has a great line of tools. I dont have a smaller type saw like this one but if I did I could really appreaciate the mobileness of the tool. Also Id build a compartment to fit around the saw so that it could handle larger sheet goods and have out feed capacity as well as longer fence settings, all of this to make the saw even better,
Thanks for the video, I have several Bosch tools that are used almost everyday.

@megakodeman This is news to me...why should you not use gloves with a table saw? Honest question.

I think I have second generation and love it.
Sure I could use a uni but for portable saw I'm completely satisfied. I just cut cedar with blade buried all the way and the motor never bogged down.
Build kitchen cabs, 24' entertainment/ bookcase cab 7' tall for family room. and lots of furniture.
If there was something to complain about it would be the fence but I have worked around that problem.

Sawstop macduff is impressed, macduff's innovative technology (The Original Jimmy Jig) the other alternate
mated to older table saws has retro-fitted that technology to be as save as it can ever be,
it will not wreck the blade or stop the saws operational function.
All macduff's ideally automatic anti-kick back devices are placed up front over-head of the blade or
cutting tool on a
stationary fence, (a macduff first) attaches to a bracket with a suspended rod from the stationary fence

which will never deviate from the parallel.
This portable light weight technology cuts sheet material to 4ft. on center requiring no large
permanently mounted side or out-feed extension tables
World wide there are hundreds of thousands of table saws with the old dangerous technology out there. Sawstop at
this time cannot retro-fit these saws. Buy new not necessarily, retro-fit available yes (plans)but don't be
complacent and keep your wits about ye, slainte mhath macduff
