On a full tank of diesel, which I'm assuming is partially a powerplant for electricity, you get about 47 mpg (1000km range/50L tank or about 621 mile range/13.2 gal tank). That's not bad considering the power output from this vehicle. The only issue with these cars are the batteries. A Honda civic hybrid requires the replacement of all the batteries every 6-8 years at a costs of at least $4k. Until they've fixed this issue, I'm going nowhere near electric.

Electric power is still underdeveloped so there's a long way to go but there's already immense innovation going on in the battery sector now that it's being properly funded. Performance wise, with newly developed battery tech gasoline engines don't stand

It's why, year over year, the Prius outsells any hybrid vehicle and why, even though they're less effective in "green" terms, people choose rooftop solar paneling instead of replacing their homes insulation. There is a lot of money in making a car strictly identify with being electric..
