It looks nice, and the intro is cool, but what's the point? The main problem with the original Zelda game was that it was so sparse and empty, especially compared to the new ones. It hasn't aged very well at all. I'm just saying a new paint job and enhanced functionality may not be all this game needs. I'm not saying it's bad. Loads of people will check this out, surely, even me. But you could've put the energy into making something original.
Why must everyone assume I'm making this for everyone else specifically in mind? I started this project for myself because I enjoyed the original. Not to mention at the time I started it, I didn't know if i would be able to get very far coding wise so i picked the easiest Zelda game to make. If other people like it, that's just a bonus.

As long as you aren't using any of Nintendo's own code then you should argue that the project is in essence a work of fan fiction to honor a much loved series etc...

You're seriously underestimating how protective Nintendo is of it's IPs.
The reason they've probably done nothing about your older videos is simply because they didn't know... as soon as you come to their attention you're pretty much screwed :/

Wow, this is really good! I've been thinking making my own LoZ remake, but it's hard to keep it completely faithful to the original. I like the WW-ish rendition of one of the original LoZ art on around 1:50. Awesome stuff.
Don't forget about those guys who tried to make their own fan game of Chrono Trigger. I heard Square Enix shut them down a month before they were suppose to release their game to the public.
See what happens if you try to release your game without any fanfare at first. Then announce it to the public afterwards.

In my opinion this already looks more appealing the Phantom Hourglass. (That game bugs the hell out of me.)
Link's sprite seems a bit on the small side though... Maybe the proportions'll look better on an actual DS?

Quick question. Are you keeping the Overworld music as it is?
It's just it seems a bit out of place and orchestrated renditions seem difficult to loop well.

Most of the music is edited to loop perfectly, over time some songs may get replaced with others etc.

The only hard part is adding in all the little details Nintendo manages to pack into the Zelda games which give it that Zelda feeling.
