muttiah is a great bowler but warnie is better , you have to look at it from all points , warnie most of his career bowled on the fast australlian pitches taylor made for the faster bowlers,
he still managed half of his wickets there!, on the other hand muttiah took more than half of his wickets at the sri lankan wickets which turn literally about 90 degrees!..... to add to that if you look at the number of overs bowled by muttiah it's much much more than warnie.

muttiah is a great bowler but warnie is better , you have to look at it from all points , warnie most of his career bowled on the fast australlian pitches taylor made for the faster bowlers,
he still managed half of his wickets there!, on the other hand muttiah took more than half of his wickets at the sri lankan wickets which turn literally about 90 degrees!..... to add to that if you look at the number of overs bowled by muttiah it's much much more than warnie.

Shane Warne took wickets against England, NZ, SA and WI but not against India or Pakistan, not even on the turning subcontinent pitches. Murali was pretty successful against India and Pakistan.
Any how they both are great bowlers and there is no questions. Taking 500+ wickets against any opponent is as good as it gets. The only comparison between them is their greatness as they both are even today the best spin bowlers in the world even after retirement.

Look why try to compare the two bowlers (Murali and Warne)? Both bowlers are legends and brought their teams to incomparable heights. And yes, while murali was the impetus for the 15 degree rule change, the major reason for the change was that 5 degrees of bend is impossible to spot and thus impossible to impose on the field. He would and should have been thrown out of the game however when a few umpires who had the balls to no-ball him did so Sri Lanka played the race card and the good old ICC caved.
