How did you make these clouds? So smooth!!

@AnKlMa They are just clumps of smoky particles.

Hey awesome, reminds me of Il2 :)

I'm so subscribing to you. Procedural planet generation, hyper-realistic volumetrics and water surfaces, a pretty nice spaceship model, amazing atmospherics- what else do you need in a flight simulator/ space simulator?
TheFXGuy 1 year ago
@TheFXGuy maybe some realistic flight dynamics, but hey sometimes more fun to look at the great design! haha!

It would sweet to see some self shadowing on those clouds, or at least some kind of normal mapping.

Looks awesome. It'd be sweet if the cloud particles were reflected in the water too. :)

Cool! May I ask what cloud rendering technique you are using?
Webking271 2 years ago
I'm just clustering particles in bunches and rendering them. I don't know if that technique has a name.
handkor 2 years ago
ur rendering them, then what? adding the render to a plane? then getting the plane to track to camera ingame?
tek5828 2 years ago
No I draw the particles directly to the framebuffer in real time. No camera tracking necessary cause they are drawn in 3D like other objects.
OMFG!!! HOW!! i thought it wasnt possible to have particles in recent blender 2.4+?
This is real-time in-game footage with XNA. This is not an animation.
Oh, because i thought you cant have particles in blender GE- so your using XNA?
Yes I'm using my own particle engine in XNA.
@handkor blender can do real time too (:
