That version was mixed by Jazzy Jeff.

Keep in mind that the variance you're noting is probably due to the high quality sound system of the Roxy back then, which was an RLA by Richard Long; the same legendary audio genius behind Zanzibar and the Paradise Garage. His systems were pure genius and you can literally hear every single instrument to detail.

Dude, I am a 34 yo ex breaker from Down Under Australia. This song has been doing my head in for years! I do not know how many times I have rewound that little 10 sec snippet of the song in Beat Strret. Isn't it the simple things in life from the past that make all the bad stuff go away? I have been smashing this killer track through the headphones and have been swept back to 1984 with the Bronx Rockers, Burners and Addidas tracksuits! I am ever so grateful to you!!!!! :0)
