Dan, I hadn't heard this one before. It's a good song. I think a lot of us have experienced the "love gone wrong" theme in this song. As a matter of fact, the first song I ever wrote by myself was a "love gone wrong" song! I can still remember the first couple of lines, "You said you loved me once long ago. Now you are different. You say it isn't so!" I went on 2 talk about how I'd always love her, etc. Kind of corny now that I look back on it, but I was dead serious back then! Yours is better!

Second, I like this song, because while it starts out sad, it ends with a kind of redemption and a will and a faith to go on. I find this song comforting in a way I can't really explain. Even with all the snow that fell on Seattle, there was still some left for us. We are getting dumped on now. They even closed the schools in Missoula today. It's not everyday that they do that. This song is great! You have a kind of folksinger's formality, something from a different time, that gives your songs weight and substance. I believe you when you sing these things.
