The beautiful single player that we all know and love can stay the same, but the mechanic of the second player would be quite different. It would have to have its own story and colossi, not the same as the single player. They would have to do quite a lot of thinking to make it enjoyable, but I bet they would be able to do it if they put enough thought into it.

This is not SotC 2, Trico or anything else. This was a tech demo of Shadow of the Colossus a long time ago back when it was called Nico before it got a real name. Trico was the prototype name of TLG.

There is no sequel to SotC, but TLG is going to be the spiritual successor to it, just like SotC was to Ico.

Shadow Of The Collosus one was beautiful. In the end Wander became a child and his love took him in. As he grew older I would like to think that Ico is the following story of it. But I see Trico being more acurate. Last Gaurdian seems not. I just wish I could find an english version. You see this character looks like Wander. It looks like it may be Wander growing up, taking on the horns since he worked for that demon to kill the Collosi. Nut I have no idea whats with the multiples characters.

sure, multiplayer would've been fun but it would've taken the feeling of tranquility. whenever i play this game i always feel at ease with it's serene landscape and music and a feeling of isolation, however when i play a game with my friends were always loud and jumping around and that's fine but for a game like this you really do need to play the game through by yourself to get all you can out of it.

I think I read somewhere that Fumito Ueda actually planned on having multiplayer just like in this prototype where you and your friends could take down colossi. I think the idea was scrapped though due to time constraints and the technical challenge. The Last Guardian is rumored to have some kind of online component to it, whether or not that is multiplayer, I'm interested in finding out soon.

The Last Guardian is the next game from Team Ico and is supposed to be similar in gameplay to Ico than Shadow of the Colossus. Shadow of the Colossus is effectively Ico 2, where The Last Guardian is a 3rd Ico game.
