Oh, but I did, and, last time I checked, none of all the protagonists used two chains to fight using the exact same movements as Kratos, from God of War. Of course, the classics and the recent GBA/DS games are side scrolles (wich I think is the true castlevania feel), but, come one you gotta be kidding me. I doubt that, in the scene that Gabriel is shown pushing the big monster with his chains, you didn`t think of GoW.
It seems to me you never played a TRUE castlevania game, in 2D(wich is weird)
Castlevania has been out a lot longer then god of war
