The commandments where NOT written my Moses but by the finger of God (Exodus 31:18) and placed inside the ark. Moses law was put on the side of the ark (Deuteronomy 31:26)
John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments. That does not sound like rule keeping to me.
If "Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.", why didn't God tell Moses "You shall love your neighbor as you love self." instead of the ten commandments (and waiting and wasting all those years)?
@Toggen62 I don't have a specific answer to your question but.. I believe that He did that because He planned everything that way. And plus, these are 2 different audiences and timelines.
@sudeki009 Making sense (or not) of the justification of a presumed Gods good or bad planning, is all a matter of trusting and believing a man made holy book and people like Paul Washer who insist that unless you constantly repent all your sins you'll end up in (sadistic?) eternal suffering hell. But that's how choosing faith and conviction is made. I guess. But what do I know?
I have a question, if I am in a common law marriage, should I fear everyday going to hell because I am not married, or is this covered by grace? soooo confused!
@sparrowlightful < If it sinful to live outside of the bonds of a God ordained covenant marriage according to the Scriptures then yes, one should very much fear God if they believe it is okay to sin simply because they are covered by grace. The desire to sin or condone sin is genuinely the mark of an unbeliever.
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Rom.6:2
@frmdeath2life CORRECTION please... I meant to say, "The desire to sin or condone sin is GENERALLY the mark of an unbeliever.. not GENUINELY the mark.
Condemnation kills but the Spirit gives Life, 1Cor3:6 Whether you ask Jesus to take all ur heart & life or to be ur Lord & Savior, or yes say a "sinners prayer" by faith u r saved. The Holy Spirit immed makes that one born again. He clothes us w/Rightouesness, Peace & Joy, washes us by His word, presence, great Love & acceptance in the Beloved thereby flesh being crucified replaced by the fruit of the Spirit. Paul Washer is negating the FINISHED work of Christ by a dangerous religous spirit.

Then Paul goes on to say the rule of law for the believer is to Love as Christ loved us. This is incorrect. Christians are not under Law - any Law. They are under Grace. One cannot be under Law and Grace at the same time.
Christ did not raise the bar of the Law. The Law of the Lord is perfect. It cannot be raised. What Christ did was to show that the Jewish understanding of the Mosaic law had been lowered. they thought that sin was only sin when it is committed. Christ said NO, the righteousness of the law is broken in the heart before the sin is commited. this is not raising the bar its seeing where the bar is.

It is SICKENING to read all of you Paul Washer haters who want "Greasy Grace" and Cafeteria (pick and choose) Christianity.
All you done on and on about is "Grace.....Grace....Grace.....Grace....Grace....Grace" over and over like Buddhist monks.
TRANSLATION: "Grace" = "Don't tell me about my sin....I do NOT want to change my life....I want to keep my sins and feel good about myself while acting all "Religious".
You people are turning Grace into a License to Sin, Sin, Sin, Sin.
I meant that Holiness and Righteous is impossible for us to grasp. We are sinful to our core. If was try to reach salvation through the Law we are doomed. Only by the righteous blood of Christ can we be declared Holy and Righteous. We are not saved of ourselves but by the grace of God. Does this mean we can carry on in sin absolutely not. But we will because we are sinful to the core.
Only in the Spirit are we set from from sin. Only in the Spirit are our deeds and works declared righteous. Christ calls to dwell in him not in our own righteousness like Pharisees.
By the way in think Paul Washer is a brilliant man. He says it how it is. Unfortunately there are people how misunderstand what he says.
Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.
What is this? A verse off?! All this verse does is prove what I've been saying.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:8-10
Well, good luck your self righteousness, I'll stick with Christ thanks.
1Jo 3:8 He who practices sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil.
1Jo 3:9 Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Well, good luck with your lukewarm religion, I will stick to God's standard's of righteousness.
Seriously, you get something in your head and you interpret what I'm saying by it. I'm in complete harmony with what Washer says, I'm just approaching it from a different perspective.
People like this character Paul Dougouba concentrate so much on their own self righteousness that they forget about Christ. Christ is the most important thing, everything else is secondary.
Osteen's "gospel" is a joke. I don't know the bloke and I don't care to unless I am witnessing to him.
I'll continue submitting to Christ, and not really on myself for salvation. You do whatever it is you do. I just hope one day Christ will come into your life as well.
"You must be born again." ~ Jesus Christ, John 3:7
You're just set on attacking a preconception. Why don't you stop putting words in my mouth, and at least try to understand what I've been saying this whole time.
Who said I hate Washer and his teachings? I've said I think the man's brilliant.
This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent. ~ John 6:29
Spam me all you like. I'm not set of winning the approval of men.
Yall are using eisegesis, stop it and use exegesis. Because there is nobody without sin, to say you have no sin and do not sin is a lie, furthermore yall both call each other brothers but dont love. Is not love the root of Christianity, the reason for which Christ died? So stop arguing and love it doesnt matter who is right or wrong because neither will change their stance.
Jesus came not to abolish the law of Mosses but to add to it and YES, it's very hard sometimes to truly LOVE. Yes it's easy to love your family but what about those who do everything to harm you or those who constantly abuses your love. If God is working on you in this area then you will understand how Love truly does cost each Christian. But the more we know Jesus and his Love for us and the Love he has for everyone then you will truly be able to reflect a true Christ Love outward to others.
True if you truly "LOVE GOD" remeber to keep "HIS HOLY DAY" not some other day... Fine if every moment is about spending time with GOD... how come when He gives us a reason such as "Because He Sanctified it". this doesnt change if you LOVE HIM. Don't tell others that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY", it's a lie.
We have to keep some rules right? I'm newly converted and I don't understand people who talk like we haven't any laws to keep for the lord. Jesus kept the whole of the law and didn't he command us to follow him? That would include law keeping to the best of our ability. We don't need to give offerings because Christ did that on the cross but we need to repent when we fall short.
anamasteos-hi, being born again is about being made new, having our hearts transformed so that we desire to obey God. We will struggle with sin, but we still desire God. So yes we strive to obey because we want to, not because we feel it helps us in our standing before God. The question to ask ourselves is, "do i love God, or delight in the things of God"? Simply obeying and keeping the law doesn't mean you love God. God bless.
We need to stop sin yes. We must not violate the 10 commands etc. Because if you do you are not loving. Christ said we must love...love does no harm ever. So obey Jesus and His teachings. Do all unto the glory of God...weather you eat or drink. Live for Him. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength...and your neighbor as yourself. Obey Jesus....24/7 in all He has commanded. Die to this life and live for Him. Be born again :). I pray you would draw near to Him
ALL we do is violate the law by thoughts, words and deeds/actions. You are correct that the only one who kept them was Jesus, no other human is capable which proves we are sinners inside and out.
Im gonna be hated for pointing this out but I must...
Mat22:37 Yashua (Jesus) said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat22:38 THIS is the FIRST and great commandment. Mat 22:39 And the SECOND [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
I'm sure Paul knows this. Pointing this out does not change the command to love. Love to God first then man next. Love to man without love to God supremely is humanism.
So Jesus is setting up the standard which is too high to achieve, the entire point that Paul links too. Bc we are unable due to Adam's in to do as the Son of God did, the above mentioned, we are in desperate need of his help, grace, asisstance, blood atonement and PERFECT OBEDIENCE. You don't see how simple that is? God sets the standard to show we can't achieve it, and it through faith in the Lamb of God who did achieve perfection that we can have eternal life. What is so hard to understand?
YEAH Buddy! I haven't seen this one yet. I could stand some improvement in the hating my enemies dept!!!!!!!!! God's telling me something! I bet everytime Washer opens his mouth God smiles.
He said, "There's no need for shadows when the Light has come. When the Star & the Sun have appeared & Christ is both, bringing light to day & night."

Every day is God's Day, he made all of them...

@john146only Yes but He only blessed and sanctified one.

We must not violate the TEN commandments YES
but CHRIST GAVE US ANOTHER BIT OF INFO
NO ONE DOES GOOD NONE NOT ONE
wE ALL SINNED
WE CANT STOP SIN
HE DID IT FOR US
Jesus Died for all OUR SINS
THE LAW wont save you ONLY CHRIST
thank him

We need him so badly bc
ALL we do is violate the law by thoughts, words and deeds/actions. You are correct that the only one who kept them was Jesus, no other human is capable which proves we are sinners inside and out.

The Bible Says NO MAN does GOOD NONE NOT ONE

Im gonna be hated for pointing this out but I must...
Mat22:37 Yashua (Jesus) said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat22:38 THIS is the FIRST and great commandment. Mat 22:39 And the SECOND [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Paul's view isn't the same as Yashua's.
YoelBenYsryael 3 years ago
I'm sure Paul knows this. Pointing this out does not change the command to love. Love to God first then man next. Love to man without love to God supremely is humanism.
Aaron637 3 years ago 4
Hi, iam sure this, he preached later at his sermon.
this videocut only points out the first commandment.
flanger7777 3 years ago
So Jesus is setting up the standard which is too high to achieve, the entire point that Paul links too. Bc we are unable due to Adam's in to do as the Son of God did, the above mentioned, we are in desperate need of his help, grace, asisstance, blood atonement and PERFECT OBEDIENCE. You don't see how simple that is? God sets the standard to show we can't achieve it, and it through faith in the Lamb of God who did achieve perfection that we can have eternal life. What is so hard to understand?

He said, "There's no need for shadows when the Light has come. When the Star & the Sun have appeared & Christ is both, bringing light to day & night."
Check this:
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this message for the churches. I AM both the source of David & the Heir to his throne. I AM the Bright Morning Star. -Revelation 22:16
