  • I like savat, and this clothing are realy cool, is like a video game!!!

  • I must say that Savate is a fighting sport that high the sporting spirit and chilvary!!! , and Muaythai is a martial art that concentrate on killing opponents..........

  • @koukaibi

Very true , Muay Thai & Krabbi Krabong were originally military styles for battlefield use.

  • Savate & Muay Thai are both damn effective & both compliment the other , why not train in both ??

  • @KEVWARD63 Exact. Muay Thai for conditioning, power, and reflexes. Savate for the finesse and variety of kicks. Throw western boxing in there too and you're set. :-)

  • See (Savate vs Muay Thai---on youtube).

The french fighter is super agile in this match.

  • i like the kicks in savate, it looks natural and flowing

  • Richtig geil ;) .. danke ;)

  • My father is much stronger than yours. :) And I sad five times more than you guys.

  • dude savate is trash thats why you dont here of mma fighters using it or cops or security the kicks often lack powern if youre going to give up 50%of you balance and leave youreself stationary the kick should have some k.o power and it should land also there lack of elbows knees and the clicnchgame then handwork is well underutilized in savate its a joke if you want a strike style take muaythai if you want to learn to kick realy well take tae kwon do if you wanna look like a fool take savate

  • @champwagner Why not actually come back when you've done savate, at this point I doubt you've even done muay thai. The handwork in savate is the full western boxing curriculum and is in that view broader than the muay thai curriculum. (Muay thai does not include bob and weave.) Savate also has a greater arsenal of kicks which, while weaker, are also faster and less telegraphed. Savate also has superior footwork. It is however lacking in the clinch and knees.

  • @aiyer1989 Imagine if they(French) add their collar and elbow and wrestling work to the Savate. That combo is very impressive.

  • @champwagner If you want to actually see Savate against Muay Thai, look up the pennachio vs dekker fight, both not exactly small names in their respective art. Pennachio was able to handle Dekker quite easily since the lack of mobility (forward, forward, forward as is the most common strategy in MT) made him easy pray for Pennachio's fighting style.

  • @champwagner french swat police are all made of ex savate champions u idiot. decent savateurs can always compete in highest level of kickboxing. muay thai fighters cant even aproach to savateurs.u are faggot which has no idea of martial arts so stfu, u never sacrifice ur balance u retard, with proper technique u keep all of it. savate is most beautyfull fighting style there is, quick and agile fighters, ALL kicks are used and COMBINED with hands which also use ALL strikes and all that IN SHOES.

  • @MrMasterlexiol Are shin kicks allowed in savate ? I saw some highlights and there were many of them, I know blocking with shin is forbiden or it was ...

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMasterlexiol In my opinion tkd and savate have the same kicks so it is not that different and for balance goes it should be the same. I can't speak on the wtf style but the semi contact style is no different.

  • Comment removed

  • Muay thai harder than savate ? I bet you wont be able to stand with condition in 1 round of assaut savate :)

  • I did thai boxing but I like savate.

Savate have beautiful dress and shoes.

  • @tadorjee

I wear long tights like those in MMA.

  • @Dimitri0809

I like the savate getup ....... it's plaine sexy!

  • Everyone dissing Savate is oblivious to the fact that a Savate fighter made it all the way to the final of UFC 1(Back when it was style vs. style no-holds barred fighting).

  • Hahahahahah, good technic thought !

  • ur good

  • foda é essa ropinha de boiola

  • Savate is both a wonderful martial art and sport, and I have great respect for it. As for those who debate the benefits of MT v Savate? Why not train them both, merge their benefits, and have a more complete martial expression as a result? I do,and have added other martial arts to my personal martial arts matrix with positive results.

  • The best savate boxer is Farid khider.

    Unbeaten since 2000

  • @moussleouf since there is different category in boxing it is fucking stupid to say farid is the best , or this is another arrogant muslim quest for identity ?

  • @angryheavyriff

he's the best in his category, u're a faggot i think.

  • @moussleouf you said it once "the best " , you are the best cock sucker in all categories i think

  • @angryheavyriff

And you are the best Jew Sucker in the greatest Category I think

  • I have done Thai boxing, Savate and American Kickboxing... I am familiar with Phons Thai boxing who is regarded as one of the best if not the best in Aus. I can personally tell you that his training is no where as hard as my Kickboxing training where traning consisted of kickng metal bars, fishing lines and usng glass bottles to roll out the calluses on our shins. I am sick and tired of MThai thinkg they have a sport which is a hard brutal sport beyond all others as it was the easiest 4 me.

  • nice skills...keep up the good work

  • Savate is a completed martial art.... And Savate is from a France, a Western Martial Art...

  • Savate has better footwork than Muay Thai, with its roots in Western Boxing with kicks added on later. Savate is a lot more defensive than Muay Thai, a good Savate fighter has much better defense. However, a good Muay Thai fighter usually is super-agressive, and cares less about footwork and finesse and more about ouright power and destruction. Savate is good, and a good Savate fighter will beat a MT fighter in a streetfight, but MT is a little better standalone, but it would be best to do both.

  • @LiNaK37 and a nother old form called shale for old shoe started by french sailers alls fencing uropean sword play

  • Its a clean art, but it's french and you look like a sissy with the ballet outfit... so....

    yeah

  • They may look sissy with those outfits but you are forgetting a key factor.

Savate is a modern combat sport (not much of a martial art)that is in the Olympics and if a Savate(French boxer) where to go up against a Thai boxer you wouldn't be calling em sissies after the match. :)

  • sissy ass art!!

  • Very clean technique.

  • I like Savate a little bit more then Muay Thai

  • @CerromeX You know, I'm starting to think the same thing. I like the Thai Clinch, the Knees, and the Elbows of Muay Thai. But I find myself (since I've been doing Boxing lately) more attracted to the finesse and maneuverability of Savate.

  • @CerromeX After watching this little clip, I found savate much more impressive and practical, but i think muay thai is better just because after watching tony jaa, he blew my mind. Though I find savate very cool.

  • @redhairmarimo I wanna know how would this work in the UFC ?

  • @CerromeX Wouldn't that be a silly comparison? The UFC rules allow a groundfight, so it'd be the old tune of owning while standing and probably losing while on the ground. The UFC in particular because it's spoiled by so many jiu jitsu guys who can't fight, so they turn everything into a wrestling match.

That's why the two are different sports. Their approaches simple aren't interchangable. You have to adapt under different rules or it's never going to work well.

  • @redhairmarimo muay thai and savate are 2 different sports there diciplines are different.somebody who runs 100 meters and somebody who runs a marathon train differently but are still both classed as runners.Suppose its about finding out which one your more suited to as a athelete and which one you can understand the most.

  • @CerromeX I do too and I've trained Muay Thai for 6 years. Better variety of kicks.

  • @dragonfist25 I trained Boxing and Vovinam for 6 yrs and we should have a battle...=))))))

  • @koukaibi Never heard of vovinam before, interesting..

  • @dragonfist25 it's our modern fight techniques based on Chinese kungfu and Wrestling, founded by NL in 1930s,it's became compulsory in our country's university since 2009......for more informations, plz check on youtube or google......thanks!!!!

  • then' youll probably get hit with both fairly easily

  • what?Xdd jajajaja good joke man!

  • are u being serious? just watch a kickboxing match (muy thai) then watch a savate fight. sure their are a few similar technique but theres a lot of different one and the kicks are done with different parts of the foot or leg. think of savate like a whip and muy thai like a stick. every style has its pluses anythin is useful if used properly

  • just one correction: kick boxing is too much diferent than muay thai and much more than muay boran. but i liked savate a lote, have a good footwok in the style, and is very quick! nice! do u komw if theres schools here in brazil ou in other place of south america?

  • yea i kno but the guy sounded like a novice and most of them mean muy thai when they say 'kick boxing' lol i wud b suprised if their isn't atlleast 1 but to be honest am not aware of any. theres not that many here in the UK as i'm struggling to find a gud club near where i live. there are instructors but u wanna really train with a club/instructor affiliated with the official savate clubs in france

  • Good response, nice to see others that can appreciate the fine points of all martial arts instead of declaring one as the best

  • good call....it's a sissy art!!

  • What are u talking about.. every martial art is hard, it all depends on how hard you train.

Saying that muay thai is harder than savate is just stupid

  • @Cropheus Obviously there are arts which tend to attract practicioners who work harder and train more combatively than others. Not to say that savate is any weaker than MT in that regard. If I had to point a finger at a bad example it would be niether of those arts. Maybe Karate? Even in that case you have serious guys mixed in with the fat walking egos in colorful pajamas with a thing for playing backfist tag.

  • @Cropheus muay thai is just ment to destroy your opponent quick and really hurt him. savate is a watered down version of kickboxing basicly.

  • @KitchenSpeclol Why not actually go and train before making statements that are based on ignorance.

If you want to see MT vs Savate search up Pennachio vs Ramon Dekker.

  • @aiyer1989 i said this based off of this video right here that i saw. a wrestler kickboxing a savate champ and they go to a draw.

its called: Human weapon savate boxing 5/5

i know savate has many tough fighters but if that guy he fought really was a world champ then that doesnt say much for the rest of the heavyweight savate fighters.

  • @KitchenSpeclol I saw that as well and I doubt that he actually was a former heavy weight champion. If you compare that guy to, for example, Amri Madani who is a world champion, the difference is more than huge. (Really, you have to check the Amri Madani superstar out, one of my favourite kickboxing highlights)

  • @aiyer1989 yea hes a good fighter. the reason i said its a watered down version of kickboxing was because alot of the tecchnique is more to score points and not so much to knock out. like the high kick is very karate like, fast but not much force. and some of the french guys that have won in k-1 like le banner are pure kickboxers and there styles are diffrent from savate.

  • @KitchenSpeclol Not really, while you start out in a point based system, thefinal type is full contact knowdown fighting. The difference however is that you are wearing shoes. These shoes mean that you can use faster techniques that do not posses as much power as say their muay thai equivalent does. However since the shoe makes up for the lesser strength, the speed is much more important.

One of the K1 figthers that uses savate is for example Ernesto Hoost who is a former savate world champion

  • @aiyer1989 ernesto hoost is a legend. i miss him. kickboxers nowadays are egomaniacs and too cocky. like badr hari. no class. hyping a fight is good but that guy talks to much. i lold when overeem kod him in there first fight.

  • @aiyer1989 dude his style much more resembles his muay thai background when he fights youre seeing almost all dutch thai boxing the technique and tactics are all thai

  • @KitchenSpeclol Another nice video, is the fight quest series. Gives a better view of savate. His trainer also drops one of the commentators to the mat with a liverkick.

  • @Cropheus It is more brutal, however, savate is more agile.

  • wat about dat sanshou! they got sum sick dudes in that style

  • sanshou is way overated..know why??

weak fighters from around the world fight against the strongest sanshou fighters in china( sanshou fighters pretend to be as the same level with their opponent)....whoo talking bout chinese propaganda

  • in what way?

  • ... not always :) take sanda for example its much harder than Muay thai!

  • he is very fast and tehnical

  • what fags

  • WELL SOME OF ARE DARLING!!!!!

  • what the fuck this means?

  • those look stupid but the art itself is beautiful

  • hahahaha yes

  • i'm sure they think our US wrestling and no-gi equipment looks queer.

  • woww this techniques are really good !

  • awesome flexibility

  • i do Kickboxing but i wil learn a Savate technique

  • what is the difference of Savate and Kickboxing ?

  • knees and elbow kicks and grabs are not allowed for the main ones but there are others things

  • All right, I'm pretty tired of people on the internet bragging that their MA is superior in all cases vs another and showing complete disrespect towards other fighters and their styles. Since when did respect towards other forms of martial arts become obsolete? Isn't respect and discipline supposed to be one of the first things you learn in any art? Each MA has it's own pros and cons; it's about which is best suited for you.

  • wise worlds...I do agree!!!!

and...btw...If only I have more time...I'd like to learn ALL fighting skills...but...an entire life is not enough to learn totally even one :-(

  • fast, elegant...

but i am sorry. I stick to Muay Thai and stop caring how elegant a kick is. if it comes without power, i just shrug it off or kick at the same time but breaking something with my bones on him... =)

  • If you stop caring you get knocked out. Watch two Savate vs Muay Thai videos. The guys fight kickboxing rules. All the power is wasted from the Muay Thai guy because in Savate the shoe is so hard they learn to move away from the kicks.

They seem less powered but they're not because of the damn hard shoes.

  • its stupid to have a powerfull kick cause of the shoes.. look at oyama for instance, he didnt have any shoes or hand wrap and he was still a god. And dont give us the "look on youtube" crap cause it only depends on the player. stupid french.

  • Well the MT fighters are chapions and lose to Savateurs...

  • its just a matter of skill.. i dopubt a good kyokushin will ever lost to these females, no offence. savateurs arent that tough as u might think, really.

  • I doubt that, no offence. People with karate background always get beaten in a savate. Usually it's because of the lack of movement sideways and bad punches. I've seen this many times.

    Sorry if you got offended.

  • No, actually most people walk around with shoes everyday, and if you need to fight to defend yourself, you aren't going to ask your attacker to wait patiently while you remove them. The kicks are powerful in Savate because of where they are aimed, not because of how they're delivered.

  • Universal Pictures presents... Super Muay thai keyboard warriors!

  • Ba zing

  • clichy en force

  • I like it, beautifull balance and good boxing, but i'd like to see some more power from the hips in the kicks. I think Remigijus is a good example of someone combining this balance, with good power in the kicks.

  • They're practising and the shoes are hard. Low kicks hurt much more than muay thai so they have to return their legs FAST. It's easy to paralyze a muay thai, karate or a TKD wannabe with the low kicks.

  • i wanna see that guy try to paralyze a kyokushin or ashihara. ;) he would so GET OWND

  • lol you think so?? He is a world champion... anyway it depends more on the person than on the martial art

  • hehe they dress like powerangers XD

  • Hehe!

  • @sonoflurch Your face will look like a rotten poweranger after 3X 2minutes of getting chassés et fouettés visage then direct and final uppercut. Trust me ;-)

  • @skameone id kick them in the balls and run for my life! trust me ;)

  • hello where can i find some training material? (some E-books? or training movies...)

  • Google Rising Sun Productions and looks for the Savate DVD. This video is a promo. Good luck!

  • It's a very authentic style of kickboxing

  • SAVATE the BEST, kick boxing shit

  • man, used to train kickboxing for 7 years,i have been looking for seomething new where i dont have to start from zero and without belts and stuff, this seems to be perfect i love the mix of

    hardcore fighting and athletic moves

  • So sailors wore those silly outfits?

  • silly outfit??? the most comfortables outfits to practice a martialart, with those outfits you don't even ralise you're wearing something, and those outfits look athletics

  • Yes, and also the kicks and slaps were used on land to avoid the legal penalties for using a closed fist, which was considered a deadly weapon under the law.

  • Yeah, 19th century. It was developed by sailors and brawlers, because they weren't allowed use fists in fights, so they learned to use their legs, lol.

  • looks just like kickboxing to me.. whats the difference?

  • huge difference. Kickboxing does not have these type of kicks.

  • what a clean looking martial art. i wonder if a clinch aspect is involved with this style?

  • it is very clean. from what i have learned it is a very intellectual style, where combatants train thier cominations and attacks to their specific opponent's weaknesses and try not to deviate during the match. this results in some very clever and interesting fights. i'll still take muay thai tho. i have yet to see a savate/muay thai fight where they are allowed full contact. peace.

  • no clinching. very clean. i heard they base points on the kicks hitting exact targets so a high level of accuracy is involved.

  • lol yeah 10pts for liver shots; 5pts for kidneys; automatic win for popping your opponents eye out with your big toe

  • lol haha

  • Yes, in the original savate "la lutte parisien" is the main grappling/wrestling style.

  • I like Savate, I see it as Taekwondo expect with a more boxer like stance.

  • Savate like TKD!?! French boxing made striking with you're feet.

  • I like savate. I can see the kickboxing/mauy thai influence, but Savate is a lot more fluid. Its almost like Kung Fu and Jeet Kune Do. It's similar, but Jeet Kune Do is quicker and more flexible. Seems like it would be a good sport and defense art. Grappling is good defense, but really, who sits around wrestling a guy at a bar?

  • yea but you can't just clear out a big space either to do the flairy kicks.

  • That's why you wouldn't use the flairy kicks. A Fouette bas, chasse bas, and coup de pied bas would work well in close quarters combat. So would any of the punches.

  • My JKD instructor is certified under Salem Assli in Savate so I definitely see the influence.

  • Savate has it's influence from street fighting and boxing not Thai boxing. Thai boxing is derived from modern boxing in England(Marquis of Queensbury rules).

  • i dont get it why savate goody than ,,,REAL martial arts

  • Yawyan still the BEst. For me ..

  • Comparing all stand-up martial arts and fighting skills is somewhat impossible, but let me tell you that savate is in the very top. Agility, sweaping, speed, fast and hard punches and counter attacks are unique. Every opponents attack has an efficient counter attack, and when it comes to strength? Well, all muay tai fighters are strongly built, but savate fighters are easily compared to a steel cable - flexible and strong, and can withstand anything

  • wow that sure taught me a lot...not

  • Actually for the lighter-weight fighters, sometimes in savate a clean head kick doesn't produce a KO. This is obvious a problem if we're talking about effective fighting technique. But for the heavyweights, I think any fast kick, savate, TKD, karate, MT is going to produce a KO, so I would see the benefits of training for speed, accuracy, and lack of telegraphing in this case.

  • I hate it when people comment that it is about the individual not the style sidestepping any honest evaluation of a technique. Savate is obviously lacking in useful knee and elbow attacks, and the kicks below the waist seem to not be as damaging as thai kicks. However, I feel thai kicks are sometimes more telegraphed and overall slower than TKD or savate kicks.

  • There are knees, but in my opinion the clinch knee is the most useful fighting technique whereas other knees (flying, or standing not in clinch) are lower probability strikes).

  • Seriously, most unblocked headkicks are going to have knock down if not knock out power. So I would think these savate kicks would be very effective aimed at the head.

  • Yeah right, totally weak...until they put the toe of a savate boot in your liver.

  • No shit! I fought savate for a couple of years and those boots fuckin sting. Most people putting down savate are probably fat fucks eating mcdonalds while surfing the net anyway.

  • I find it funny how most savate fighters are all built the same. Thin, with long legs.

  • LE TOP EN MATIERE DE SAVATE BRAVO KAMEL

  • vrey very good

  • whats with the rock lee like get up?

  • it makes u move faster and once u point it on u dont want to take it off hahha

  • Awesome, I love that hook kick to break the guard.

  • wow. great technique, savate is one of my favorites contact sports
