  • How nice that these guys, those that started it all with ITCOTCK, are still with us, and playing so well. The drumming is spot on, just right, not pushing it. It's great to (still) be alive and to keep hearing this tune as originally played. A gift for sure!

  • where be the clarinets?

  • Amazing! This is why I love music. I bought this King Crimson album in 1969. This has always been one of my favorite songs by them! This version is just incredible.

  • Actually would do with a slower pace like the original. Ian McDonald SUPERB, Mr Giles Honestly expected more from the original drumworks, he sounded a tad basic here with almost no fills at all. Singer doesnt fit in my appreciation. But what can i say, its a real gift for us die-hard crimson fans to have this masterpiece live.

  • @timaquin1, U R so Fuckin' RIGHT. This version seems sped up. But it's very nice to listen to this song live, in so great qualitiy.

  • no way...is he really gavin harrison....@_@

  • Mr. Ian McDonald - you have my greatest admiration. Don't ever stop playing that beautiful flute.

  • Im now 57th but one the best music of my century...with love lucia..

  • I personally like how the original by King Crimson is more mellowed out with the instrumentals and lyrics.

But nonetheless this version is still amazing in its own right.

The lyrics for this song are amazing.

  • In my view the best version of this song was a demo recorded by Judy Dyble, Fripp, McDonald, Mike and Peter Giles before Crimson was formed. The Giles brothers and McDonald play on this version.

Giles was a great drummer in his day and one of my favourties. He played on the first two Crimson albums, but he seems to have gotten old.

  • I havn't seen him for a good few years now, but that looks and sounds like Jakko Jaksyk on guitar and vocals - am I right JJ?

  • Damn straight...Crimson Stripes all around and abound!

  • This ain't no King Crimson...yes thats Ian Mcdonald on flute.... but wtf r the other characters?? The vocalist is horrible.. can't hold a note to save his life...sings as if hes bored with the entire affair and his head looks like the dishwashing tool I use to clean out sticky pots and pans.

  • @leonakita ok... so it is Michael Giles on drums, Peter Giles on bass, Mel Collins on sax/keys, and Ian Mcdonald on flute, thats a healthy chunk of Crimson , but no FRIPP guitar, no Lake vocals, and no Peter Sinfield vision! Those are important missing pieces, shoes that this brillo pad headed tool can't fill ! A shame, cause it isnt all that bad ...surely they could find someone to do a better imitation of the Lake vocal line ..perhaps Greg himself, if he isnt stuffing his face at a buffet.

  • @leonakita wow...you are mean....

  • You may actually name the band performing the song. Pedestrian version

  • Wow King Buzzo's clean voice is pretty pleasant. Can't wait for the new Melvins album!

  • this version is too pop! The guitar does not fit very well with the song. The drums riff too is too pop!! It seems to me a very "cold" version... no emotions.

  • is very good but is so anoying you put a false title...what a nerve...arent you ashamed ?

  • I think I was at this if its the astoria london in 2002 ish time. pfm were also on the bill

  • Great to hear; a wonderful performance!! I wonder if they could perhaps team up with the grandmaster himself, Robert Fripp, for a couple of gigs?? But would it not be great if all could come together for a follow-up album to "In the Court of the Crimson King" (1969)?? Ian left at the end of that year with the fine drummer M. Giles, a decision he would later regret...(His finest music may be here with Crimso; he was responsible for much on the first album.) Look forward to more!! Thank you!

  • did not like that voice, very strong

  • way too fast.

  • This is the 21 Century Schizo Band.... not King Crinson.

  • Is that Fripp on the flute? Good christ.

  • Excellent performance.

  • @Onfex This is indeed not King Crimson, but 21st Century Schizoid Band. Four of the five members have been playing in King Crimson, two of them on the original studio version of this song. One of them, Ian McDonald, actually composed the melody. So why not give them the credit they deserve.

  • I don't know why they just didn't say the band's name in the description-cheating a bit, don't you think?

  • ESTA AGRUPACION NO ES KING KRIMSON AUNQUE, LO INTERESANTE ES QUE TIENE EX MIEBROS DE ESE LEGENDARIO GRUPO.

  • This is the 21st Century Schizoid Band.

  • Stunning! Best live version I've ever heard! Great job!

  • This is probably the 21st Century Schizoid Band, a band that including former Crimson musicians.

  • This is most certainly not King Crimson.

  • @danxenatro It is.

  • @theoxiiii This is a song from King Crimson's first album, but this video is not a performance by King Crimson.

  • that ain't gavin harrison
