@Rodolpho262 Microphones weren't invented in his time. But he didn't need one; I have heard that he can project his voice through a large concert hall. :)
@goodboybuddy1: Dear James. The picture is misleading, sorry, - it's from a benefit (WW I). Sometimes difficult for me to find fitting pictures... This recording was done in the studio, but I believe when Enrico sang one could/can always feel his presence.
Geraldine Farrar writes in her biography that she, the first time she stood on stage with Caruso, forgot to sing as she had broken into tears from the beauty of Caruso's voice. I think it was not (only) the voice, but his presence/empathy.
You are very welcome, diagonalley101. Your Great uncle is considered the greatest tenor of all times. I've uploaded more than 100 arias/songs to YT and made a website to his tribute.
Hundred of thousands with ages from 13 to more than 90 have commented on the videos. The beauty of his voice - even in these rather poor recordings - still bring people to tears.
wow! Beautiful performance!!! Thank you tomfroekjaer for sharing this video.

XD I like the description for this. The picture is really good, too. :) I would've loved to see him in concert. What an experience that would be! :)

Caruso apparently spoke seven languages - including Neapolitan English.
