  • poor Page.

  • Love the fast doubles from barker!!

  • slash is damn good..is true...but nothing compared to jimmy page

  • slash is my third fav guitarist then jimmypage then obusly jimi hendrix :P

  • i need say this..... that solo sucks or idk if is the sound quality...... i like both led zeppelin and lash......but really some1 tell him dont do it again.....

  • @warroksniper2 please spell his name right

  • ermm....no way near as good as Jimmy Paige

  • @warrocksniper2 Yeah right, Jimmy Page can write, but he plays like shit. Slash is lightyears ahead of that idiot.

  • @RockinRollTrain "idiot"...one of the members of one of the greatest bands of all time is an idiot?

  • @RockinRollTrain so you're saying a member of one of the most influential rock and roll groups in the universe (Led Zepp) is an idiot......hmmmm....

  • @warrocksniper2 I'm not saying Zeppelin weren't influential, just that Page plays guitar terribly. He's the weakest guitarist I've ever seen get so much praise. As I said, though, he wrote some good music.

  • @RockinRollTrain If so then you have no concept of musical talent, just because slash can play a ten minute ego boosting solo, which by the way sound mostly the same, doesn't mean he is better than an artist who plays a 30 second solo which is unique and full of feel that is natural. It takes it over the top and kills it.

  • @RockinRollTrain "He's the weakest guitarist I've ever seen get so much praise. '

Because you're a musically inept moron who doesn't know the difference between technical chops and *everything else that goes into* playing guitar. It's ironic, because in terms of chops Slash is an absolute pile of shit compared to, say, Guthrie Govan, but you still dig him. I wonder why? Perhaps because of his tasteful timing and phrasing? Page plays licks on this track that *defined* tasty for generations.

  • @RockinRollTrain haha, you're getting a lot of replies, so this one might get lost. Regardless, I wanna point some things out.

For one, make sure you're watching Page when he was in his prime and drugs and age hadn't destroyed him. About '73 and near there he was unbeatable.

Two, watch/listen to his solo in No Quarter in The Song Remains the Same album/dvd. It is unbelievable. You won't be saying that then.

Three, watch his live versions of White Summer/Black Mountain Side, not to mention the

  • incredibly variance in all his performances, and his ability to compose severely unique riffs.

I'm afraid you're just wrong bro. I don't blame you, as i didn't like Zep before i actually gave them a chance and myself the opportunity to see what they had to offer. But now I cannot get enough of it.

I get how you mean he's 'weak', but it's not weakness, it's his style. Don't just think me a fanboy, or you're gonna miss out.

  • @GeorgeCassells At least there's somebody reasonable enough to give actual counterpoints rather than say "everybody likes jimmy page, he's a god, duh".

I haven't really given him much of a chance, but the sheer amount of numbnut fanboys he has is off-putting from the start. I listened to No Quarter, and while it's better than I expected, I still don't understand the worship of such an average-to-good guitarist. Search for "Slash solo 2008 germany" and you'll see what Slash is capable of.

  • @RockinRollTrain Yeah I get the exact same feeling when I hear too many fanboys raving about something. For instance, I find it difficult to appreciate Kanye West at all because he's apparently some sort of lyrical genius (he also acts like a douche). However, even i can appreciate that his music, separate from him, still has some actual substance.

As for Page, it might just be a matter of opinion for me. Love his style- seemingly sloppy, but actually intentional. Givin' Slash a listen now.

  • @GeorgeCassells Yeah, if you like his style, that's one thing. But he's not the best guitarist ever. I doubt any of his fanboys would know Larry Carlton but he's the closest there could be to a best guitarist IMO, except maybe Hendrix..

  • @RockinRollTrain LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL........slash cant be as good as page.......ask all over world.....and see the answers.........he is just overrated

  • Please tell me the singer aint the prick out of Linkin Park

  • Dave Navarro ruins just about everything. I just don't like his style of playing. I've watched him jam with other people like Dave Mustaine and he seems to be confused. It's nice of Slash to take pity on him and let him join in the music.

  • that had better not be travis barker on drums, oh dear it is. He's good in blink but cannot match bonham

  • Oh man 0:18-0:19 could NOT have been intentional... That sounded awful...

  • Man, the thing about Slash is he uses the most simple setup, and mostly lets the amp do the job. Simple great sound

  • lol is that dave navaro?

  • @Pepper2Jason

yes thats dave navarro. i was there and got to play with him before the gig

  • Thats one of the best solo's I have seen Slash perform :O Just so full of everything XD

  • was that chester holding the mic? when he came into frame the first time i swore he had a red bandana on his head lol

  • wow that was amazing

  • i love the sound of his guitar its not to distorted and right punchy

  • @wolfgang29 to thin though

  • good times bad times, led zeppelin?

  • Yes - I'll update the title

  • @riderdude10 Dude. You totally disappoint me.

  • bo its just your imagination :P
