What kind of hoop do you use? I just started out and I made my own hoop but it seems a bit to heavy.

Most people start with a 3/4" tubing and a large diameter. If it feels too heavy for you, or to big, those are the two main things you can change without getting more complicated (i.e. - different types of plastic, etc).

Try 1/2" tubing - and if it feels a little too light, use hockey or gaffers tape instead of electrical tape to add some grip and weight back onto it.
