let me explain a bit better this guy sucks at it, ok and air conditioner has 2 coils the evaporator, and the condensor, the evaporator has R410A running trough it and when R410A is under low preassure it gets very cold thats the back coild he was talking about. what he doesn't mention is that there is a condensor coil and thats where ur hot air comes from cause when the air passes thru the evap it goes into the condensor after while to get cooled off cause its under high preassure when it in con
can some one just tell me why mine has an "up drain port" (large) and a low drain port(small)... long story short, mine leaks everywhere. please help...
I Have A Dual Hose Air Conditioner Which Is Preferable Because It Does Not Create Negative Pressure In My Home And Pull In Warm Air From The Outside.
I Am Looking For A Video On How To Open My Danby Portable Air Conditioning Unit So That I May Clean The Coils And Keep The Heat Exchange As Efficient As Possible.
I gather the air cooler is more healthy for one thing. Anyway can't an air conditioner be compared to a refridgerator. I mean whatever gas is omitted into the fridge to cool it right down to freezing is the same as what it is the gets the freezer much colder. There is a name for this gas? substance. it is orderless, and I know something of this is omitted into the air...
@8:00, you tell us about settings and setting temp at 20/22 c, seems warm enough but yet it can feel like it's 13-15c.
@Ezdduf4kuZ the gas stays in the coils/copper tubing it is not omitted into the air it just keeps cycling back and forth. from gatineau :p gets quite hot here sometimes :)
My only complaint about these things is their average lifespan seems to be only two seasons of fair to heavy use. I've just ordered my third as the code here doesn't allow me to have an actual window unit, but the lifespan has been an issue. They have been good at cooling I just wish they had a longer lifespan, I got 5 years out of my cheapo window unit before moving to this new place.
I'm glad that I watched this video. I have one of the portable air conditioners and it worked real good for a week, then it started putting out less air. I cleaned the filter in it and the temperature I set it at changes back to a hot temperature. The room I am using it in is smaller than what they say is can work in and wonder what is happening?
@KarthikSoun they do get the occasional freak summer heat wave in southern England during the summer, imagine the hazzle of having to spend heat wave nights without a way to cool off?
@mark40511 I guess most average households don't have ac...well it's like that here too in Vancouver where you really don't need an airconditioner but for 2 weeks a year when the temp may get into the mid 20's(75 degrees). We did with on windows and for a few days in july abd a few more in August we made do, and then we knew the basement is cooler. Many houses/condos may have a smaller air conditioner like this one, just for those really warm ones, I agree with you, we here don't know HOT HOT
@swifty1138 I have one of the air conditioners and I can feel the air being drawn under a door and the air from it isn't as cold as I expected. The exhaust hose does blow out all the hot air as advertised.
For folks in the states we call "air coolers" "evaporative coolers." They work great in dry climates, not so well in humid climates, but people use them in both. I used to install big box coolers. Some tips. It's advisable to have an air outlet on the opposite side of the house from the cooler. If you don't, the cooler will saturate your house with moisture, eventually causing mold and mildew build up which can ruin clothes, furniture, even sheetrock and wood. ECs work great in the desert!
I installed an evap cooler in a double wide trailer in China Lake (Mojave desert) where temps routinely get above 110 and even 120, and ground temps exceed that of the Sahara desert. Once it was up and running the difference in temp between outside and inside was dramatic. More than 30 degrees F difference. It was like walking into a dept store. Needless to say the client was very happy!
What is wrong with a window unit? Well, only of course that some rooms do not have a window or a large enough hole to use one. Still I'd prefer a window unit. No need for hoses. :) Also it does not take up space in your room area.
Im shocked that you have not been hired by hollywood.

@bigfoot0331 Probably because you are using the dehumidifier without the drain tube in. Not 100% but maybe.

does the air conditioner have a fan inside which draws the air in towards the cooling 'refridgerater' bars?????

Someday, someone will invent a truly portable plug-in airconditioner. No hose, no connection to the outside. Impossible?

Extremely informative! I only wish I could purchase the portable a/c unit that you demonstrated over here in the states!
The only models I can find are either $700+ or are cheap looking chinese models!
