I really enjoyed the movie, mainly for the acting. I'm not one to like a movie because of the actors in it, but I was really impressed with the work Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel did. Mark, somehow, kept a straight face while I was choking from laughter, and Zooey was hilarious, yet serious when she needed to be.
i actually love Night Shyamalan! I´m always looking forward for his movies. Of course, some are betters than others. The Happening wasn´t a great movie, but The Village, Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable are amazing movies, at least for me. :-)

Zooey is a good actor and mad hot, Wahlberg is a great actor as well, but Shyamalan gradually lost his touch in his quest to be the next Hitchcock. I'm still hopeful though, maybe Airbender will allow him some room to find his individuality.
I love this Zoey chick. I think it is so attractive for a brunette or darker haired person to have these sky blue eyes..it's such a contrast, yet so beautiful...

For me the movie was just ok. I think it would have been different with someone that Zooey actually had chemistry with. They also needed a better script between the two characters. With the lack of chemistry and a so-so dialect is what did the movie in. Now in the beginning you can believe they are a married couple having troubles, but in the end you just don't believe them as a couple mending fences and re-kindling the love.

i dont know what to think about this movie. can´t believe, that the director of one of the most "beautiful" killing scenes (like the one in "the village" between a. brody and j.phoenix) does all the worse parts of "the happening" without intention. the dialogs, the cutting, the bad cast, the clichees... i still have hope, that there was a certain intention behind it, and i think, i gonna watch it again, just to improve. but... if not, then... this was no good movie at all.

for me the most shocking part were the 5 first minutes, you know : the workmen on the roof, dropping. such a dreadful scene. it s a clever movie : chemical changes : no more survival instinct. i was impressed with the idea behind the whole movie, it just made me shiver all the way back home.
I saw this movie last night and just about jumped out of my seat at one point. It has some very tense moments, some graphic scenes of death and suicide, and is not for the faint of heart, in my opinion. Too scary for children, and I suspect, too disturbing for some adults. The movie makes its point quite well, which is: let's take care of our natural resources. For a scary summer evening flick, go see it.

Honestly the story line had something missing...i didnt quite like it.

Really, people should understand that this film is intentionally this way. I honestly think that Shyamalan is pulling the piss out of films like these. Wahlberg's acting in the film plays this idea, I think he wanted this film to be a joke.

Wow, you are easily entertained. This movie sucked big time. The acting sucked, the writing sucked, the plot sucked, the editing sucked. Every aspect of this movie sucked. Even the title sucked. It sucked so bad I walked out before it ended. I'll never pay to see another shyamalan movie. Sixth Sense was good, but ever since then each of his movies has sucked more than the last.

i dont know what to think about this movie. can´t believe, that the director of one of the most "beautiful" killing scenes (like the one in "the village" between a. brody and j.phoenix) does all the worse parts of "the happening" without intention. the dialogs, the cutting, the bad cast, the clichees... i still have hope, that there was a certain intention behind it, and i think, i gonna watch it again, just to improve. but... if not, then... this was no good movie at all.

for me the most shocking part were the 5 first minutes, you know : the workmen on the roof, dropping. such a dreadful scene. it s a clever movie : chemical changes : no more survival instinct. i was impressed with the idea behind the whole movie, it just made me shiver all the way back home.

I saw this movie last night and just about jumped out of my seat at one point. It has some very tense moments, some graphic scenes of death and suicide, and is not for the faint of heart, in my opinion. Too scary for children, and I suspect, too disturbing for some adults. The movie makes its point quite well, which is: let's take care of our natural resources. For a scary summer evening flick, go see it.

no no no. The whole "the scariest stuff is what you don't see" is true for Signs because it has Aliens in it. This is not true for The Happening, because there is no physical or visible threat and it is not scary in the slightest.
