I almost get the impression from the lyrics of the Smiths song that it's about an abortion, and the guy and girl going their separate ways. Not sure whose perspective it would be told from, but the line "wrap her up in the News Of The World dump her on a doorstep, girl" (wrap her up in a newspaper) and "A shoeless child on a swing reminds you of your own again" seem to suggest giving up a child.
@sorenkierkegaard2008 As do I. I believe that Morrissey wrote it about his favourite play 'A Taste of Honey' by Shelagh Delaney XD I could be wrong though XD
actually now i think its just G... but played in a lower way.. if that makes sense. the second g being an octave higher. and in the verse he should be going from Am to G.... but he just stays on Am...
i think its (?) Em? capo on the fourth fret, or whatever suits ur voice... i read that marr tuned up a half step for morriseys voice. thanks for that tho frykitty!
the songs given title is/was "Still Flat"..Listen closely you'll pick it up enough times that it should suggest the song name..An if thats not enough evidence go buy the record "The normal years"..its hypnotic.
The Daniel Johnston cover, "Some things last a long time", speaking for myself, Is the most charming, articulate, Funny, Enjoyable piece of music ever put together. Yes you're right that cd causes daylight hallucinations. I had been fooled into thinking I was a bear coming out of hibernation, I couldn't stop yawning an slouching an crossing on the floor

@TheNewWordMB yeah, it sounds good too...

Verse: Am - Fmaj7- C - Fmaj7 - G (x2)
Dm - Am - G
Chorus: Fmaj7 - C - G - Fmaj7 - Dm- Fmaj7 - G
The Fmaj7 is played like this (x33210) so it's basically a Fmaj7/C.
And he's playing the song with a capo on the 4th fret.
