The sound is pretty thin, but his skills are undeniable. He's a real innovator in terms of technique, which is pretty rare these days, and his feel for the groove is impeccable. Fantastic musician all round.

Thing is... people say 'Hartke sounds awful here' or 'Can't judge because of the poor camera' - and true enough... but I've heard amps that sounded much better then this with the same quality of recording... so... I'm going to have to vote against the Hartke sound here I'm afraid.

Which is why you shouldn't judge by video's. This CAMERA got a terrible sound out of the hartke. It would get a terrible sound out of any amp. It didn't pick up any of the bass. Go plug into one and then make your judgement bro! :)

Saw him there Thursday. Fantastic player. He's played so much at NAMM he's probably worn out, not tired or out of practice! Simply fantastic player and nice guy.
