@KoivuTheHab alive and well, well.. half the shit that was great about back then, wasn't even appreciated until decades later. the same could happen with todays stuff (and yes it's out there, it's just not the ramones) the sounds allowed to modernize a little if all the important things like the message stay the same. (theres plenty of wanna be bands out there now trying to ride the coat tail of the older's success, but there are good bands around too). you just have to be very resourcefull

@HAYDS510 Even if the message is the same it doesn't help if the music sounds like shit. The biggest reason for the lack of listenable 'music' today is that we live in a digitalized world. There is a massive difference in sound between analog and digital recordings. Nowadays they record a song and then they mix it to perfection in the studio making is sound very unnatural. The only band from the past 15+ years worth listening to is Os Haxixins, not surprisingly they use only 60's equipment.

@KoivuTheHab if you're after the sound of the 60's - 70's then todays music will sound like shit to you, but it doesn't mean all music in general is. I wont say the majority of more recent music doesn't sound horrible, but theres some nice bands out there. auto tuned crap with pitch correctors, thats very lame indeed. I'm pretty sure alot of the stuff from the 80's+90's is fine though, i mean look at Nirvana, Operation Ivy..etc more recently bands like rancid, dropkick murphys.. they are fine

@HAYDS510 80's punk is very good indeed, there are a few good albums from the early 90's too, altho I myself prefer the late 70's punk by far. I guess everyones music taste is different, in my eyes Nirvana and Operation Ivy are decent bands. However Rancid and Dropkick Murphys are way out of bounds, just look at them today... If you ask me all of todays music is shit, and it's been the case for a very long time. I have yet to find another exception besides the band stated above.
