@tife1er Your muscles will grow stronger. So you see, it wasn't a waste of time at all, but it wont help you to get lean and ripped. And another tip that almost everybody doesn't know, if you wanna get those sick abs you HAVE to use weights with less reps. No reason for 300-400 crunches when only 150 (50 for each sector+drop set) would be enough.
Hey Mike, I am skinny, not due to a high metabolism, i want to gain muscle and weight, i do shotokan karate, which has helped me get rid of my weakness(wearing out too fast) but i want to gain some serious muscle, i have a friend who is the opposite and has quite a bit of fat, we are working toward the same goal of being very strong martial artists, i have the technique but like i said, i need some muscle.

I really think you should make a distinction between long steady cardio vs things like intervals or north south drills, etc which focus on fast twitch vs slow twitch muscles. This type of cardio if done correctly with proper nutrition can build lean muscle. So not all cardio will make you look like a "refugee" lol.
Track and feild all my life, and no one on my team looks like a refugee... well all the long distance guys (>800m) do lol

I really don't understand your idea of more muscle = faster metabolism. This is actually an incredibly unsafe approach. You lose just as much fat, just as quickly if you just do cardio daily if you do it safely. Bulking up is the wrong approach to a six pack, cardio is the only suitable answer, because you end up burning the exact same amount of calories safely - if you weighed more.
I'm glad i found another pro home work out trainer. Your tips and vids have help me increase my at home exercises and built up muscle a lot quicker than i expected. keep it up !
Okay man, I love your videos and I'm sorry but I gotta come down on you. When you say "3 quick tips for getting abs" you should be telling us things we SHOULD do. Instead of 3 tips that help, you just told us 3 things to avoid. Secondly, it felt like you burned a lot of time with analogies for things we basically already understoud, then, on top of that it seemed like sometimes you said the same thing twice. You are a great fitness guru but you could be a little more to the point.

@sixpackshortcuts Hi, I am 28 years old and 5'8.5" in height. From last year I have been hitting the gym and through a mix of weight training, cardio, free hand workout like sit-ups and a little dieting reduced my weight from 243 lbs to 187 lbs. Though my muscles are toned and fat in my body reduced, my abs, though being slimmer haven't shown the same level of development as other parts of my body. Can you please tell me that are normal sit-ups more effective or sit-ups on a decline bench ?

@beatzfromchicago When he talks about bad cardio workouts he means long low intensity cardio, like more than 30 minutes. What he suggests is short high intensity cardio, like his 9 MINUTE cardio example.

@1UKdave you DO need to train to get abs and do cardio but NOT before you lose your belly fat first and get a flat stomach. Because if you train to get abs with belly fat, you wont get good results . and doing cardio by running on the treadmill is is gonna take forever. THAT is what he is trying to explain.
A lot of people seemed to be confused with him saying cardio is bad. What he is saying is there are more effective fat burning cardio methods then running on a treadmill for 45 minutes. Which gets boring fast. One example is his M100 video, which the workout is about 11 minutes long and way more effective for fat burning then the treadmill.
If you retards don't like the video then don't watch. He has very many helpful vids, for FREE. He's just advertising his program aswell but that's his job. THUMBS UP if believe so.

@RJsBad I'm referring to long extensive periods of cardio that burn muscle, and hurts your joints while doing them ...The best cardio for you is fast high intensity cardio, like the M100's. It only takes an average of 5 min to complete and you'll burn more calories while doing them.Give the M100's a try..hope this helps..;-)

kid if you want to get abs go running, do push ups, and crunches every day. Running is going to burn lots of the fat and then the crunches come in for the definition. Push ups is a good way to work abs as well because you are in the plank position. do these every night and you will see results.

lol steroids dont make you buff, they charge your body so you can exercise more often without the need of hours of recovering. the fact of the matter is to get rid of body fat to see muscle, do a thousand ab crunches a day, the muscle will be there, but the fat will cover it up =/

@bobevansize ROFL, you obviously haven't been to the gym or work out at all. For his size, it takes years even with protein supplement. You need to hit heavier weights with a spotter in order to exceed your plateau. Also, you need to be pretty strict with your diet... complex carbs (veggies, flax, whole wheat, whole oats), lean mean (chicken, fish), vitamins (oranges, apples, kiwis)...

I think it is better to do exercises which will burn fat more quicker. So your fat from your stomach will go away.

@sixpackshortcuts Hi, I am 28 years old and 5'8.5" in height. From last year I have been hitting the gym and through a mix of weight training, cardio, free hand workout like sit-ups and a little dieting reduced my weight from 243 lbs to 187 lbs. Though my muscles are toned and fat in my body reduced, my abs, though being slimmer haven't shown the same level of development as other parts of my body. Can you please tell me that are normal sit-ups more effective or sit-ups on a decline bench ?

Slow Cardio isnt effective, but HIIT (high intensity) Cardio instead is VERY effective. Only if you rest time is minimum.

@beatzfromchicago When he talks about bad cardio workouts he means long low intensity cardio, like more than 30 minutes. What he suggests is short high intensity cardio, like his 9 MINUTE cardio example.

@1UKdave you DO need to train to get abs and do cardio but NOT before you lose your belly fat first and get a flat stomach. Because if you train to get abs with belly fat, you wont get good results . and doing cardio by running on the treadmill is is gonna take forever. THAT is what he is trying to explain.

A lot of people seemed to be confused with him saying cardio is bad. What he is saying is there are more effective fat burning cardio methods then running on a treadmill for 45 minutes. Which gets boring fast. One example is his M100 video, which the workout is about 11 minutes long and way more effective for fat burning then the treadmill.

@RJsBad I'm referring to long extensive periods of cardio that burn muscle, and hurts your joints while doing them ...The best cardio for you is fast high intensity cardio, like the M100's. It only takes an average of 5 min to complete and you'll burn more calories while doing them.Give the M100's a try..hope this helps..;-)

kid if you want to get abs go running, do push ups, and crunches every day. Running is going to burn lots of the fat and then the crunches come in for the definition. Push ups is a good way to work abs as well because you are in the plank position. do these every night and you will see results.

lol steroids dont make you buff, they charge your body so you can exercise more often without the need of hours of recovering. the fact of the matter is to get rid of body fat to see muscle, do a thousand ab crunches a day, the muscle will be there, but the fat will cover it up =/

@bobevansize ROFL, you obviously haven't been to the gym or work out at all. For his size, it takes years even with protein supplement. You need to hit heavier weights with a spotter in order to exceed your plateau. Also, you need to be pretty strict with your diet... complex carbs (veggies, flax, whole wheat, whole oats), lean mean (chicken, fish), vitamins (oranges, apples, kiwis)...

@NedSCUBAyah Yes, of course. There are two elements to Afterburn Training: heavy, compound lifts and high intensity cardio. Check my deadlifts video, and my 9 min cardio video for examples of each.
Of course I don't teach the full system in this video. The full system consists of 21 full workouts and over 15 hours of video. You CAN get started with just these quick, free youtube vids though -- and then the full system is there if you want to take it to the next level.
