  • juste après le "king Elvis" mais vraiment tout juste après.... un bonheur et une surprise à l'époque.... j'étais mordu..;

  • Vince is good ,Id never hear of him . Thanks for posting.

  • Vince Taylor was a rock singer in the United States too but never released a record there. He only performed rock 'n' roll covers of hits of the 50's in sock hops. In 1958 he moved to England but they didn't like his long sideburns and he's wild stage act. So when he came to France in 1961 he made a great impact. The french rockers loved him. He made many records. But he also made records when he was in England notably "Brand New Cadillac". He started to use his Black Leather suite in 1960.

  • The drummer is Bobbie Clarke. One of the important drummer in early british rock and roll..

  • @wannawinabear Technically Deep Purple's first drummer, I think of course before they went out under that name even.

  • @blackster bobbie clarke was one of the best british drummer with brian bennett of course.

  • The drummer is Bobby Clarke. One of the important drummer in early british rock and roll..

  • Who's that on drums with a double bass drum?

  • I really don't remember this guy but he had a style all of his own. Have seen comments about his personal life but as far as talent goes he had it. Made Elvis look like he was standing still. Very handsome man with a lot of talent however some never attained what they should have because their habits got in their way.

  • @Tonithenightowl Spot-on about his style. I just discovered this guy recently, and only because I was looking on youtube for "Brand New Cadillac" by The Clash. I should've known about him long before my fortieth year - the dude is electric.

  • @rb62470 Don't feel badly, I'm 57 and never heard of him lol. I think that happens with a lot of European artists when it comes to being known in the States. They simply didn't get international exposure. Thanks for responding.

  • Anyone who even remotely compares this guy to Elvis has obviously got rocks in their head...

  • @terryr55 to the people of the UK and Europe at the time he did.

  • @mralmeister1 ...looking back, I think it's a real shame that Elvis' manager didn't allow him to tour Europe. That was a phenomenon that the whole world needed to share in...just like the Beatles.

  • @terryr55 Imagine if he and Vince toured together...wouldnt that have been something Terry....

  • @mralmeister1 ...would've been a "Whole Lotta Shakin'" goin' on, I would guess...lol

  • this is the best version of this song I've ever heard other than Elvis's of course lol...this guy Taylor was one cool cat!

  • His name is Vince Taylor

    Dumbass!

  • Comment removed

  • Well This was recorded in a few days (lots of tracks, not really rehearsed).

I agree that Elvis' version is better but this is not too bad too.

You should listen to the original of Brand New Cadillac by Vince Taylor! A masterpiece and than you will say if he's a clown or what else

And anyway he moves better than Elvis!

Try to let it grow on you!

  • i know exactly who vince taylor is! i have no respect for him at all,i met him in london in 1960 he was rude to me and my girlfriend (now my wife) he harrased all the ladies at his concerts by trying to seduce them.He was physically violent to alot of people,i know they say dont speak ill of the dead but this guy wasnt pleasant.

I prefer presley anyday, when i met elvis he was the most charming a friendly man anyone could wish to meet.

This guy was and most likely still is (in heaven) very rude.

  • @ChiefRedSkins

So what, he was the Rebel rocker, he lived, breathed and ate rock n Roll, unlike Presley who was just a comercial entity after his army term. Presley was also a drug addict with plenty of documented cases of bad behaviour towards people.

  • @motorvating

    Totally agree with you.

  • Agree - He is compare to early Elvis, Johnny Burnette and Gene Vincent.

    May him RIP

  • many thanks for posting - Vince was a GREAT ROCK SINGER (also dancer) died too young !!! Miss him !!!!

  • super !! c'est vrai qu'il a bcp donner d'idées a nous les YÉYÉS

    merci du partage

  • alvin star dust he he he

  • Alvin Stardust dont even come close

  • I can't help thinking of the Beatles in Hamburg when I look at this. Did they copy Vince Taylor's image?

  • Not copied, just influenced by haha.

  • I wonder if they ever shared the stage back then.

  • Great video of the legendary King of Rock and Roll in France!
