  • this sounds robotic

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to have two transmitters connected to one receiver? I'm trying to do a podcast with two people in front of the mic all the time (Like DiggNation). - Let me know. Thanks!

  • hey i've been looking at these audio technica systems and i'm not sure what the difference is between the "twinmic system" and the "pro 88w system". The design, weight... are the same but I would like to know if the quality is the same, thanx

  • thumbs up if you talked to the mic when he pointed it at you

  • Jesus Christ! I thought Don Adams came back from the dead to talk to be about microphones.

  • I think that was a bad unit. I have one and it sounds great no static. Or it might be all his signals around his house. hmm

  • horrible mic

  • This unit goes for around $130...for not much more...say around $150, you can get a much better lapel mic although it will be wired. Wireless kits under $500 tend to be cruddy...either the signal cuts out or the mic just is very cheap and unclear. Samson has some ok kits for around $300 which are under the UHF spectrum which won't interfere with most products found in the common household.

The lapel in this kit is ok but panning is strange, the handheld was very tinny sounding.

  • Hi Chris,

can I use this on my PC? Because I John Street video was a program called cam studio. Please contact me on my channel. Thank you!

  • i like your voice.. perfect for a cartoon charactor.... unique... not a boring voice like the rest of us...! u are blessed

  • lol aww ur such a cute geek haha. and the mic sounds really good! interesting interesting. :)

  • The monitor desktop screensavers made me have a few seizures. lol wtf man turn those bitches off

  • there is still static.

and how much did that cost?

  • Ron Rizzy, you are a real jerk, you need to be taken off YouTube!@!!

  • etf are you doing behind you? hacking the pentagon?

  • But again, if I were to upload a compressed video for YouTube up here, the AT-2020 wouldn't sound anywhere near its capabilities. I'm sure these two wireless mics are not on par with the AT-2020 or any other mic of that calibur, I'm just saying, this is a bad way to test the honest audio of ANY mic.

Slow down killer...nobody's attacking or biting off any ear lobes...just simply stating an opinion as you did yours.

  • In all fairness, I own an AT-2020 myself, and can guarantee you if I made a YouTube video myself, using the AT-2020, because of the compression of the audio after re-encoding the video for YouTube, it would probably sound no different that the two wireless mics he's testing here. In a true "audio" test, running it through Pro Tools, Audition or any audio recorder/editor of your choice, the AT-2020 would sound amazing compared to these wireless mics.

  • Obviously you are reading "the lines", and not "between" the lines. My saying it "sounds like crap" was meant "figuratively", not "literally". The last sentence of the comment I was responding to reads "Not very good at all". Figuratively, most people would say "sounds kinda crappy". Obviously you did not say this in literal verbatim.

All I was simply saying was that YouTube is not really a good medium to test whether or not a piece of audio equipment "sounds up to quality standards".

  • Sounds like crap man!

  • great video. do you know of any other wireless systems that offer 2 or more lavalier mics that can record simultaneously?

  • sounds kinda masked and muffled

  • Thanks alot man, whats the maximum distance away from the camera untill it wont pick your voice up??

  • Ugh I HATE 9 Volt Batteries!

  • Sounds hollow a bit. static and interference is heard when reaching for the box. Maybe the FM signal is bad near other equipment.

  • lockergnome, This video rocks.

  • You no the microphone your useing the technika at2020 can you use it for recording your screen

  • dude i want your screen savers or visualizers whatever dude those shit will be a trip to look at on boombers

  • What would be the best way to mic a hand drum(Udu drum) that sits on my lap as I play it? I want to be able to ad reverb and other effects? Thanks for any advice.

  • The wireless mic sounds like there is intermittent static coming in, not to mention your voice isn't very clear and there seems to be ambient static as well. Not very good at all.

  • sound gets better after the first 2 min.

  • @tonyutter How can you honestly, truly say it sounds like crap when you are not factoring anything else into this? First off, when he holds the mic AWAY from his mouse, it's SUPPOSED to sound muffled as it's most likely a low-impedance mic. *I* thought when he used the hand-held, and the lapel mic, they sounded very clear.

  • @RonRizzy Well allow me to listen to it again. Nope. I don't agree and neither do a lot of people in this comment section. I guess a lot of people can't be wrong? Oh well. I guess my ears deceive me.

  • @RonRizzy I must also ask why you "think" I said it was crap? Did I ACTUALLY say it WAS crap? No. I just said it was not very good at all. Not a device I would use personally. In the future, do not assume what isn't there.

  • @tonyutter The "hollow" sound someone mentioned could also be the EQ'ing of the video as done by the audio encoder. This was probably compressed in some way so it was more "bandwidth/YouTube friendly" which will change the sound and EQ of the audio. As an audiophile, and someone who has used/owned many sets of mics over the years, this doesn't all all that bad, considering it's over decent quality audio/video. Remember...your speakers play a big part in how it sounds too.....

  • question...I'm buying a Nikon d90 or canon 7D next month...would this system still work for me and how...thank you.

If possible can you please do a demonstration.

  • your vids rock! thanks!

  • make money online...check me out

  • Hy Chris,

i follow you for 2 years i think.

The Videos with your big Camera, i think it is a Panasonic camcorder, where much better than the aktually Videos on the Vido. also the Stnd-Mic on your Desk is lightyears better than the Vado Mic or this wireless mic. Please switch back to the previous setup with the Panasonic Camcorder and the Mic on your desk, they are much better.

    Greets Sven

  • The wireless looks great for hands-free, but the hand-held seems to sound clearer.

  • the mic ur using sounds worse but thts why i actually like corded mics cuz i have a lifechat wireless and a logitech corded and the corded one sounds better

  • I think the mic built into the camera is better than the wireless mic.

  • ugh, sounds horrible.

  • For a wireless handheld mic use the Shure UHF set.. it sounds great and has a better tech

  • there is interference please don't use this

  • IO thought you were using the Samson C01U? That's the mic I use

  • How can you say it has crap sound it's no different to usual

  • hahaha he said he needs to use his right hand, lawl

  • Please, use another mic, it sounds terrible! All hissy and interferency

  • This was Hissy... and a bit of interferrence.

    Keep on YouTubin!

  • sound sucks... Switches channels a lot of times. Left Sound fades out quite often!

  • The sounds not very good at all on this video.

  • is that the logitech webcam 9000 on top of his monitor?

  • the sound on this one sucks balls!

  • sounds sucks, really sucks

  • A little distortion and panning from left to right which is very strange, perhaps Chris's is faulty rather than a design fault with all.

  • Im curious does anyone know what kind of chair Chris sits on in his videos? It looks like it would be a nice buy.

  • It currently is not in production anymore.

  • Does the reciever plug into the mic jack on the camcorder?

  • what a waste of $130

  • That mic is crap.

  • go back to the built in mic

  • where can i get that awesome screensaver in the backround!!!!!!!!

  • @randomrazr It's called Electric Sheep - Google it :)

  • Idk if this was me but your voice kept on panning in all differant directions throughout the video. You may need to set your mic in to mono to stop that.

  • @raf1qu3 i see what you mean it's really bad

  • The geek knows haha.

  • ookk good... so its not just me. good to know

  • Do you ever have a problem of finding the right cords to go with all your devices?

I have a drawer full of leads that I dont know which device it belongs to.

  • i think the build in one is better...

  • nahhh i really dont like it

  • You may need to tweak your EQ Chris, the sound was an awful lot better with the hand held.

  • Yeah lots of feedback, not sure if I would use this over a built-in mic unless I absolutely needed the wireless function.

  • lots of noise

  • Well Chris... You should fix you stereo, or make it mono, and because suddenly i only hear you on the right side. And you should olso set a new standars eq on the bug mic, the higher frekvences are to low. Next time, buy from a brand that specializes in audio, AKG are the best brand for audio. At least I think so :)

  • Not bad... just not great.

  • your voice, gets so much better with the hand held.

  • What Camcorder, does Chris Use in this video?

  • That sounds bad... lots of noise.

  • sorry you're sick. I hope you feel better.

  • ⓗⓔⓨ ⓣⓗⓐⓣ ⓕⓤⓝⓘⓒⓞⓓⓔ ⓣⓗⓘⓝⓖ ⓘⓢ ⓚⓘⓝⓓ ⓒⓞⓞⓛ

  • I have never understood what he says at the end with the three fingers ... can anyone help? (I'm not english nor american)

  • It's E Ya Later. Google that... there are several videos and blog posts I've done about it. :)

  • bad sound.. not gonna get that mic..

  • Never Knew that that was there

  • Cool to have, but doesn't sound great! More for live productions, like gnomedex!

  • doesn't sound all that great! what you used before was better

  • Comment removed

  • mmm. its crappy , its got to much interference and for over 100 dlls i think is lil expensive for the low quality :S

  • Of course it picks up interference; it's wireless! But for a wireless mic it's pretty amazing.

  • The built-in mic is better. But that's pretty awesome for a wireless microphone.

  • theres loads of Noise from that mic.

  • what is the screensaver on the imac?

  • Comment removed

  • it comes built in with OSX

    Screen saver: Arabesque

  • You got lot of interference on the mic and lot of static sounds. I think the mic in the camera got lesser interference.

  • you should put an epilepsey warning because there is so many colors in the back of u

  • yeah, it's a cool new thing. but it doesn't work very well. a few generations of this, then maybe.

  • 8 hours is typical on wireless mics. You are getting some interference there, but it's not TOO bad. I'm an audio guy as well... It's not bad for a cheap set. the handheld mic sounds a bit better though.

  • Now we wait for the day where he runs out of battery mid recording :)

  • the Kodak Zi8 also has an external mic jack

  • oh wow the handheld mic is terrible!

  • yeah loads of feedback.

  • sound is horibble

  • feedback sucks

  • i was going to say the sound, sounds weird in this Video. Some times it spikes with a hum. idk if it just me.

  • probably using a bad cable. makes all the difference

  • bad cable from the reciever to the mac, unless he's using bluetooth or something

  • the interview mic sounds much better. no feedback from that. does the job and cost is low!

  • I work with sound daily.. It's OK for youtube type applications, but there seems to be a lot of hum and static at times. (could be due to all the electronic equipment in the room) It also doesn't sounds a "Full" as some I've used. It could just need some adjustment.

I wish MORE youtubers would NOT use the on camera mic due to the room noise they tend to pick up. Drives me nuts!

  • Sounds awful.

  • I like the vado 3 mic better, but I like the twin mic over the live stream mic.

  • what does e you later mean?

  • nub

  • sounds bad, lot of feedback

  • built in is better

  • sounds overdriven at times - would be nice if there was a gain control

  • That a cool little setup.

  • sounds crap.

  • sound quality has some static noise and constant hiss, left and/or right channels occasionally briefly drop out... probably interference, but useless to any audiophile that takes sound seriously.

  • yeah sounds like ass

  • it bad got sound

  • that mic pick up the dog lol every1 get that mic

  • what are the little box lights on top of your shelf for?

  • @xtremedrummer3600 the "lights" are clocks Chris likes them

  • They are tix clocks. They display time...

  • I can see HD

  • Yeah he is, it is in 720p...

  • get a life..its 720 p hd

  • My bad people. I was watching it on my iphone, and the quality was seriously downgraded.

  • quality stinks..

  • the built in mic was better by far

  • I agree...

  • where did you get the neon light's above your monitors? :)

  • look at my latest video it shows you where to get them

  • They are called TIX Clocks I believe...

  • Actually i find the build in mic to sound better then this new one.

  • The sound cracks and left channel occasionally shuts off. Theres also some hissing sound in the background. Requires some tuning.

  • is it just me or do you hear static?

  • That mic is trash, if you ask me. Audio keeps fading from left to right, and then back. ANNOYING.

  • Any cheaper and worth the money?

    This is over my buget..

    Thx chris for the review!

  • the sound is wrong, you go from left to right all the time :I

  • 129pound :O

    niiice :)

  • Really disliking this hiss, your shouting was much better

  • chris its VAYDO. They said so at the creative press conference.

  • What's wrong with the mic infront of your iMac Chris?

  • SAMSON CO1U is the best mic.

  • this is cool but there is a bit of white noize going on in the background..i guess cos its the fm!

  • thanx. always a pleasure

  • Chris do more taste testing videos!

  • suggestion: those screen savers are so distracting. A static landscape would be better to watch these videos...

  • There is a hiss but that is normal really for FM wireless items

  • the quality on the handheld mic is really nice

  • Chris where do you get your Tix-Clocks from?

  • go . tagjag . com / tix

  • the one your using sounds really quite.

  • i cant get on that website whats it again

  • I watch all your clips you put on and you are a wonderful person. Thanks for taking the time out to show things. :)

  • Hand held sounds much better!

  • your screensavers are mad and you wear a mark ecko hoody....cool

  • How do you afford to get all those screens behind you and all the gadgets?

  • @TurtleStroker by working ;)

  • for you: money

  • It's crap Chris

  • Sounds great!

  • its crap listen to it with head phones on buzzing and skip from one ear to the other.

  • no it doesn't... o_O check ur headset.

  • he is right

  • you are right

  • Your right. I definitely heard a difference when I switched to a headset. Buzzing and such.
