You won't taste any alcohol, but considering it's about 25 oz. of alcohol per bottle and serves 12 cocktails, that's about 2 oz. of rum per cocktail which is fairly standard and "safe" for those that have to judge their drive home after a party. You'll know way in advance of getting sloppy drunk if you've been effected.
A long time, if I had to guess, as there is a good amount of 40% alcohol to "preserve" it over time. I'll let you know, mine will be in there until Thanksgiving and I create the video last Saturday.
