So what I don't get is what good is it to hide the message, it doesn't do much for the average person even if they subconsciously reversed it in their head. Clearly, you have no lives and have to create your own entertainment by letting your imaginations run wild out of sheer boredom. This is called cacophony, and it's phisically proved. You can hear anything you want by reversing a song with rhythm, harmony and melody. And i am checking some of the stairway backwards: All satanical, but all differents. Check out! The "satanic" message isn't clear, is just some messed sounds that can be interpreted. The only music that have backwards is Pink Floyd's Empty Spaces, that contains a congratulations message.

The song backward is BS. The song forward tells one to make a choice of spritual path as their choice leads to forked paths and dead ends. Robert Plant tells you directly the path they have chosen when he says 'our shadow is taller than our soul'. It's very simple. Everyone's shadow is dark, their darkness is taller (bigger) than their soul - even in summer when shadows are small ... It says everything - no need to play backward.

This is all psychology. You pick words that have the more pronounced vowels and consonants that you hear in the same order (in the English language there are a fucking lot). Doing this, you can have a song playing backwards say almost whatever the hell you want. I suggest you do this with this song, especially if you actually believe in all the Satanic stuff. It's little more than a magic trick so all you religious dudes that believe it just need to get out of the middle ages.

I think some Christians have problems with this song because it has the mystic message of "all is one and one are all". In a dualistic relegion (good side / bad side) the idea that god is one, and that ego / Satan / the devil is an illusion held like a filter to the one great light, brings up the uncomfortable fact that the "demons" we project onto others are in fact our own. Page didn't worship the devil but he was really into black magick. Apparently there are rituals and stuff that make you successful and famous. He didn't know if it was true, but it was working for him so why not. Zeppelins fourth album is loaded with satanic stuff. I dont really think doing that made the album sell more, i just think its a really good album. Prob just a coincidence. Wasn't a devil worshipper, he just thought magick was cool.

Page bought Aleistar Crowley's estate and was known to walk around in his robe's that came with the purchase. If you don't know who Crowley is, look him up , also. This is no coincidence. If you walk a stairway backwards, you are traveling down, away from heaven in this case. I'm not saying the backwards lyrics were done on purpose or conciously. Something happened though
