This vehicle is used as a maintenance vehicle and also is used to push snow and pull a larg rescue boat. Was used extensivly in December and Jan. during the two huge storms we had out here to ensure responding apparatus could make it into the scene without getting stuck. Used by OWL VFD in Northern Virginia

  • what type of lights are in the grill

  • i am sorry man, but that is stupid..it's like Christmas lights..the only thing I like is the front of your truck and hey, why not become a real cop..

  • thats fucking intense

  • what do you need to get an opticon emiter to work properly, what if i just ordered one off the internet?? what would i need to do?

  • @praisehim805 Not just any Joe %$#@ The Ragman can buy a bar with an opticom. It has to go to a PD or FD address...

  • @owlemt Owl, Opticom is only used for MARKED Emergency Vehicles. And, has to be local emergency vehicles only.

  • There is no reason why you would possible need that many blinking lights on a vehicle of ANY kind!

I have driven threw intersections blind because a police car or fire truck is parked on the corner with eight hundred million strobes flashing directly in my face.

It is a hazard when people put so many lights on a car you cant see what else is going on around you!

  • @shortwavecolt the whole idea is for a person to be seen, when u see flashing lights your supposed to stop. When its blinding it gets peoples attention, but instead of stopping, you cover your eyes and go on through?

  • If I have to approach an intersection with an emergency vehicle or PLOW TRUCK, I should not be forced off the road by 500 blinding lights! 75% of the time I see emergency lights on the road I am driving BY THEM! In Michigan our speed limit is 70 MPH. The State Police still run the same bubble gum machine on there roof as they did in the 70's

If the State police can live with a classic rotating beacon, there is no reason why a civilian vehicle needs to look like a space shuttle on take off.

  • @shortwavecolt well, u really shouldn't stare at the lights anyways, they are to get your attention and make u become alert to what's going on around you. I have been to a lot of court, involving civies hitting emergency vehicles at the side of the road, they said they didn't see them, since then they have made it so obvious you are just stupid to not see them. I work a lot of night work and the amount of lights doesn't bother me, because I can see them and so can everyone else

  • @shortwavecolt Those of us with blinding Christmas Lights majority of people are off the road and in safety. You need to be a mental retard driving in the most severe road conditions. It is for our safety and the safety of civilians.

  • @shortwavecolt Then you should not be driving then. Driving is a privledge and not a right.

  • Obviously you don't understand why there are laws on lighting a vehicle. You can't run huge off road lights on the top of a car because it will blind the people that are in front or in oncoming traffic. I use a diplomatic vehicle for work. Tell me why this guy needs 15 flashing lights to plow snow, when they can transport a diplomate threw traffic with only four?

  • @shortwavecolt In Hazardous conditions those lights will have a 100-150 feet visibility. With few lights only 15-30. Never driven in snowstorms or blizzards.

Even in Tornado Warnings. That is when Tornado Touches Ground. You need 15 strobe lights to increase visibility. They are never used when there is visibility. You need the 100-150 feet visibility. Better than 15-30 feet. Which could cause a nasty car pile up.

  • I don't believe that for a minute! I will bet every chance you get to flip on those lights, you do! That is the type of person that spends that kind of time and money to setting up something that ridicules.

Its not like I can just call my boss and tell him "I can't come to work because it is snowing" I'M FROM MICHIGAN!

You don't have to bullshit me man. I understand that some guys like there truck high, some loud and some with crazy flashing lights.

  • @shortwavecolt

I understand all of the discussion in regard to all of the lighting on this vehicle. I see you are from Michigan, I grew up in Saginaw, and up there when any type of emergency vehicle approaches everyone pulls off to the right and stops. NOT down here in Virginia! I drive an ambulance and have people try to race me up the road or will stop right in front of me or not even see me. Sometimes the more the obnoxious the lighting and siren the better. At least down here in Virginia!

  • I totally agree with what you are saying. As a moving emergency vehicle there is an expectation that you will need to warn people of where you are going.

My beef is when people think it is ok to blind everyone that comes within 500 yards. Because they are part of a road crew or because an officer is directing traffic. That is why most squad cars have non strobe takedowns as well as several selection switches.

If you don't believe me, think about pulling up to that truck in the det of night!

  • @owlemt i know it i live in va 2 and they dont even slow down

  • @shortwavecolt You know what it is like drivving in 2 feet of unplowed snow then on a Highway and how much visibility there is??? I would not mind that truck coming up and blinding me due to road conditions.

People do not drive unless your suicidal in blizzard and heavy snow conditions. I never seen a truck yet which did not have all lights on unless in severe conditions.

Anhd, you complain like a little sissy girl which just wet her panties.

  • I don't understand what you are getting at? The reason I drive a 3/4 ton 4x4 diesel Suburban Is so I could navigate threw snow, mud, ice and the occasional curb. Just because you have a truck with a plow on it doesn't mean you are any more capable at controlling a vehicle than anyone else.

Face it, this was posted to show everyone how cool this truck is. Not how well they can navigate ice and snow.

Like I said earlier, If a Michigan State Trooper can live with a bubble gum machine, why cant U

  • @shortwavecolt Michigan State Troopers get in more accidents you dumb fuck. Many do not see that light and bam accident. And, Michigan is changing to LEDs. Michigan just did not want to change with the times since you are a backwards ass state. That is why Michigan has more Al-Qaeda than any state in the union.

  • Do you actually believe typing factless crap into the computer will prove your point? I have never heard of any major complaint with the Michigan State police and there vehicle illumination. They have been using LED's for the last 10 years (behind the grill and rear window.) Dearborn Michigan has the largest Arab population outside of the Middle East. There are also KKK members all threw the South, should we kill every white person in the country? I know who built that F550, IN MICHIGAN!

  • @shortwavecolt Not talking about grill and rear window I am talking the dome. Wheelen Lights are doing Michigan Roof Dome Light. Michigan does not want to change with the times.

You do not need roof led lights at all. What is needed most is rear windshield, grill, front windshield, and side view mirrors and have a suburban side back windows and also theside bottom. That is all for visibility.

You never been in a Hurricane and you need close to 80 lights.

  • @shortwavecolt

I think you're just jalous that you can't afford a truck like this. Or the lights.

  • @chase312 im agree 100% with u haha. i just watched that and thought to myself, damn when i can afford to light my 550's up like that im gonna

  • @shortwavecolt Like I stated you need to be a mental retard driving in WORST Road Conditions. That is the only time we have emergency lights on which are brighter than a christmas tree.

  • @shortwavecolt Like I stated you need to be a mental retard driving in WORST Road Conditions. That is the only time we have emergency lights on which are brighter than a christmas tree.

  • what is the song

  • Is this a fire Department Vehicle?

Really nice set up I love the LEDs by the Inch and TIR3s in the side grills Nice

  • dang a ton of money was dropped to have this nice of a utility wow id use it as a rescue truck or brush truck nice truck tho man

  • I think that's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!

  • whar do you get your lights form

  • We get them from Able 2, whelen and federal signal.

  • The lights in the step side and the F-550 air intake on the side are my favorite parts because of there uniqueness.

  • Wut kind of lights did you use on the tail gate and in the grille

  • Able 2 LED by the inch in the grill and Able 2 22 inch bendable's on the rear

  • great looking truck love it i just love were all the led and strobes have been put just fabulous.

can u tell me the song at the start of this video please

  • What flasher are you using on the grill lights?

  • Able 2 11.1005SF flasher

  • Looks good. I can't believe only one flasher is doing 10 lights..

  • Those are only 2 Abled 2 LED by the inch busted up in 5 6 inch segments. I have put well over 300 inches on one side of the same flasher and didn't blow it. It got hot as hell but wouldn't fail.

  • i blow one side out on my sho-me flash running 4 lights per side. I don't know if the sf modle is rated for more out put or not. Put you are pushing some power through it. Looks good keep push'n

  • why would you need a siren for

  • Comment removed

  • This truck is going to be used to push snow, salt/sand, pull one of our boats and also used as a utility.

  • Comment removed

  • Good question. I don't know of any state where it's legal to use red emergency lights so you can pull a boat. but maybe there is

  • Good point you can't run reds in a plow truck, and when you do run reds you have to have a siren too

  • This truck is going to be used to push snow, salt/sand, pull one of our boats and also used as a utility.

  • oh no we blew a fuse! check all the wires LOL

  • Is this for the Dept? What station is it going to?

  • Probably going to end up over at the Nut House. Going to be used for pushing snow, sanding and pulling boat 2 when it is not dockside

  • Wow what a great additoin to the fleet. I can't wait to drive it.

  • what does a fd need a stake truck for?

  • wow!

  • thats just ucking amazing
