the beat crusaders do sing this song. I looked up a bit on Wikipedia on Beck Mongolian Chop squad. in the musical influence section there is a bit of information explaining that either The Rocket Boys are a parody of the Band Hives, or it really was a 1960's band. Either way this song is awesome.

the band isn't real. they were probably based off of one of the many british bands back in the day of the beatles. but they weren't real. it is a good song though. plus you can tell they aren't british by the locals there accent is pretty heavy even while singing.
