I missed the whole generation III, when it comes to games (did read the manga and I have watched the anime afterwards) so I would love to get a remake for my DS :)

@moonphoenix18 some people are making a fan-made anime based directly on the manga, although it goes rather slowly (as everyone is volunteers, no one gets paid, and they have real lives too)

There used to be a preview of the start of the first episode on youtube, but I think it was removed for copyright reasons...

This is good stuff. I read the manga, easily tenfold better than the anime, even at it's worst. Why can't we get even a one-shot movie from this? If the rights were made public, I'd make it myself. It'd blow the current show outta the water, whoever made it (Other than *ucKids... I mean, 4Kids.)

Ash=His strongest pokemon loses half its battles, keeps making stupid mistakes, IS STILL 10

Sapphire=Strong battler, good character depth, can fight pokemon with HER BARE HANDS

May=Coordinator, pretty whiny, uses pretty bad pokemon

I'm just mentioning two characters because it would take to long to list everything the manga has over the anime.

The english name for the manga is Pokemon Adventures, and the japanese name is Pokemon Special Manga. Although this manga stopped being pubilsed in english a long time ago, it is now being re-published in a "best of" series and has a best of Red and Yellow volumes currently out. You can also find this manga online if youcan't wait for a "best of Ruby" to be released in english.
