  • Sweet seems to curiously omit lots of the high notes. Weird. In his earlier days, I would think he would be able to execute these. Kind of a let-down not to hear them. Should have hung onto Fran Cosmo...

  • @millenniumoverdrive I laugh at your ignorance... Yes in his earlier days he probably could have done it.Are you telling me that after 20 something years your vocal chords are still going to be the same? No,there not...

  • the drummer here (jeff neal) was one of my teachers in high school!

  • Stellar .

Michael Sweet still has the Vocal Chops .

C'mon guys give us the Fans a full concert dvd

    Thanks

  • @powerman5000ca

Not only that...Michael Sweet has the STAGE PRESENCE. Tommy DeCarlo, while an awesome singer as well For Boston, walks around on stage like he's totally lost.

  • @ride80 Tommy is a slob in a windbreaker.

  • Michael Sweet went back to his old band Stryper..

Let's hope that he stays there!

  • Michael Sweet is a fantastic singer, so you Boston fans should be happy. At least you didn't get Arnel Pineda. :p

  • Mr. Neal is a teacher at my school...haha its great!!

  • neal is my teacher second block best 84 mins in the day !

  • michael kinda does sound like brad, stryper and boston rock r.i.p. Brad

  • haha ya mr. neal was my teacher too... so weird that he's in boston

  • man yall are lucky to have teacher like that

  • I bet if Jesus had an Ipod, Boston would be on it for sure! Jesus Rocks, and Boston rolls! It's a match made in heaven. Together forever!

  • @TubeSteak007 Jesus doesn't need an iPod. He's got a fucking turntable for Boston records.

  • Jeff Neal is my history teacher! probably the most funny person i have ever met.

  • dang thats so awesome you are so lucky

  • Michael Sweet is a great guy. He went on tour with Boston last year, even though his wife had cancer. She died this year. Instead of taking a year or more off, he will be touring with Stryper this year, to be joined by Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl (Boston) later in the year. He is still dedicating himself to a possible Boston tour next year, despite now being a single father.

  • wouldnt that mean he's a terrible guy?

  • Michael Sweet is an incredible singer, and a really good man.

  • Sweet was sent to boston by delp in heaven!!

  • look, i am a longtime boston fan and to compare brad and michael is not fair. listen to michael sing honestly and you'll see he has a great voice! him and brad could hit those tweekers and hold a note, but the're voice are different but that doesn't mean michael can't sing. he is one of the best. i miss brad but we must accept michael and tommy. maybe tom will bring back fran? tom will do whats best for the band. thanks to michael their still is a boston

  • I get the feeling the majority of America has fallen into a deep sleep. They would not know talent even if it determined their eternal destiny( heaven or hell). For the delusional majority out there, I sense a tremendous amount of jealousy towards Michael. On top of that, you bring in his faith. What does that have to do W/ anything?

  • and gotta say, michael sweet is a really nice guy.... i like his voice too... =)

  • Oh boy are you in for a nasty surprise!

  • amen

  • Hmmmmm... I think we all agree there was only one Brad Delp (RIP ol buddy)... But Michael Sweet does a pretty darn good job... he's a excellent musician and singer... and if the other members of Boston thought it was appropriate for him to to fill in, then that should be good enough. If ya cant handle it, then don't watch it. Whats the point in arguing about it ?????

  • Michael Sweet is no Brad Delp, but he still has great voice and in my opinion did a wonderful job with this song.

  • Rest In Peace, Love, Light, & Joy.

Psalms 33 - Play Play Play Music...

33 RPM... JC was 33. Brad was March '51???

  • Being an old Stryper fan, it was WAY cool to see Michael sing this with Boston last night. It was my first Boston show, and I was in the second ro. I was completely blown away. Michael still rocks! What a showman! And it was really cool to finally see Tom play live too!

  • Tom Scholz baby!!

    Brad Delp R.I.P man.

    You will be missed!

  • brad delp-suicide :[

  • Michael is in fine form, as usual!! Michael Sweet ROCKS!!

  • Um, NO! Nobody makes anybody commit suicide.

Tom and Brad were friends for over 30 years. Please don't continue to post this same condescending comment on every BOSTON youtube video that you come across.

Tom talked highly of Brad and Brad Tom...maybe you should watch youtube vids of Brad and push away from the keyboard.

    Sheesh.

As for BOSTON on tour, they are sounding better with each show. Can't wait for Florida!!

  • Happy Birthday Brad Delp June 12 1951. Condolences to your family, you are truly missed.

  • tommy decarlo

  • I think hes a fine singer.

  • Michael Sweet has ALWAYS oversang everything... even in Stryper!!!!

  • I agree with you 100%

  • @retoronto Describe What you mean? No disrespect to you, but how many albums have you sold? What you have construed as oversinging is referred to as TALENT in the adult world...Perhaps Justin Beiber is more your speed, sizzlechest!!!

  • Michael Sweet is a fine fit for the band. Look at the tech trouble they are having on stage. TS must have had a fit of his own, lol. They pulled it off well though, bravo

  • Michael, your are wonderful. Praying for Kyle! Bless you bro!

  • Great voice, but a bad match for Boston. Sounds like he is over singing, extending everything.

Fran Cosmo is a better fit.

    Just my honest take.

  • Have mixed feelings about michael....but i think he is a great fill for Brad....Just always remember he has big shoes to fill?? God bless ya man....i would not have the courage to do what you have to do! Keep rock alive!!

  • I am a fan of Mike Sweet, he is a very talented singer and guitar player. His vocal style is different than Brads, however, he doesn't try to mimick Brad. I admire that fact. Thankyou for posting this!

  • O_O...

  • looking foward to seeing Boston this summer with Michael Sweet

  • AWESOME!!

  • The song is PEACE OF MIND

  • remind me of stryper...uGHH!

  • get a clue, my son...

  • Stryper sold millions of albums worldwide. How many have you sold?

  • Wow, never would have put that together....

  • That means shit considering the fact that people like Soulja Boy have sold millions of their songs.

  • Touche'

  • Agree with punchmyvagina.

  • some of you say Jesus freak dont kick the door down cause some day you will need a key to enter and that is Jesus himself no one can replace a original singer he did a fantastic job could you do any better?

  • Well, Tom Scholz joined Stryper for Stryper's remake of this song for their new album. Should sound awesome! They even played together for the Station Family Fund Benefit last month. That will air on VH1 on March 23rd.

  • michael sweet kicked ass!!

  • i dont like stryper, christian rock, or michael sweet in particular but he sure fits like a glove into the boston sound. great clip.

  • Not to detract from honoring Brad, but was that Sib on drums? Hey it sounds great for a little sureshot canon mic.

  • No, not Sib - That was Jeff Neal

  • Michael es una gran vocalista, y clavo las canciones de Boston. No podrián haber elegido un mejor cantante para el tributo de Brad. Michael hizo una gran actuacion!

  • First off, I NEVER said I hated Michael Sweet. One of the best vocalists out there, hands down. I just dont think he handles this song very well. And I have heard the new Stryper version and I am not all that jazzed about THAT either

  • Michael did an excelent job!!!

  • No bigger tribute possible than to have the greatest vocalist EVER to perform... amazing choice to get Michael Sweet!!

  • He found his peace of mind...Always in our hearts Brad...God Bless

  • Geez....what's with the Michael haters? I think Mr. Sweet did an awesome job and I would love to get this whole thing on DVD. For those claiming Mike could not fill Delp's shoes they had then ask if Delp could fill Michaels shoes as lead singer of Stryper? They're both great singers with different styles. Again great job Micheal!

  • What's up with the Michael hater's? This is. Listen again. He's off time, forgot some of the words and tries to prove hey I'm a great singer- let me extend the note. He was awful at the tribute. There are gonna be some that say there was equipment malfunctions, but the gutis supposed to be a professional singer. Dude got smoked by an amateur, with no stage experience.

  • Michael Sweet was really the perfect vocalist for this tribute to Brad. Thanks for posting this.

  • Was there aug.19th, what a special night, So many wonderful people stepped in! Brad Delp was such a Great Person.Miss him deeply......

  • damn, they sound really good...wish i had the chance to see boston when brad was alive, but things happen...interesting he omits the "come a day when you'll be gone" ...i guess kinda depressing in context.

  • brad hope you know have peace of mind !!!

  • Michael is awesome. God gave him a great gift.

  • It sounds like Michael Sweet did a pretty good job. Nice to see him rocking. His last few projects weren't exaclty my tastes so I really dug this. The band seems in fine form. The bass and drums are tight:)

  • Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let's get some things square. It's unfair (not to mention libelous) of you to assume that sexual favors are being exchanged between Tom and Kimberley. Kimberley was playing in a band that Tom and Gary Pihl went to check out when they were looking for drummers. They offered the gig to the both of them - it just didn't work out with the drummer.

She is a terrific singer, guitarist and person who doesn't act like she knows she's as pretty as she is.

  • @Trowerr libelous? Is this Scholz????? Hehe.

  • Tom just recently got married. If he wanted Kimberley in the manner you're suggesting, he would have married her and broke up with his then fiancé.

Finally, BOSTON has been going through the same thing other bands have: Van Halen, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, lots of others-- All have had personnel changes. Some survived, some not.

Michael Sweet volunteered to do the impossible - to stand in the lead vocal position of this fabulous band and attempt to make the night magical.

    He did.

  • Mike's guitar was out for a majority of the set. (Notice the stagehand running around). But he kept going. I'm sorry you weren't there for yourselves. So many people in pain and this night raised their spirits.

Brad is gone forever. If the bring on a new singer, maybe YOU should attempt the impossible - try not to compare him with Brad. There are people who can hit the notes he can but there will never be another Brad Delp. Rest in Peace, my friend.

  • Youre a lucky guy - Does he tell his students much about touring?

  • You guys bashing Michael Sweet are fuckin' NUTS! Why hate? Cuz he's a "JESUS FREAK"? I bet if he was anything but, y'all'd say "GREAT JOB!" A-fuckin'-MAZIN job, Michael!

  • I have heard a few of the songs that Michael did and although he is a GREAT vocalist, I believe he was the wrong choice for this.

  • ive always loved michael sweet and stryper,im not a christian rock lover just thought he has a amazing voice, did a great job!,who could of done better?

  • Jesus-freak Sweet trying to be my man Brad, Boston dies long again when Tom kicked Barry and Fran out. That chick makes me sick!

  • Your said it all............great work ijnr

  • michael did a great job,im not a jesus freek,he just has great vocals!!

  • Awesome video! thanks for posting it Michael was fantastic!

  • great job!,but why did they pick michael sweet?

  • Mike was kind enough to volunteer

  • thanks for sharing!!!! michael did a great job!!!

  • Sounds great!

If you've got it you've got it!

Please don't leave Fran out though.

George Michael could pull it off too but then "Peace Of Mind" would become "Peace Of Behind".

  • OMG............is this awful. RIP Brad and please dont listen to this Krap. FU Tom

  • This is crappy but Brad would be ahppy they care. Tom is not a dick. Please don't knock him. Getchasumm is totally wrong.

  • You're completely right. We all know you can sing Brad Delp twice as good as Michael Sweet, or anyone else for that matter! YOU, my friend... are THE MAN! *...and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise*

  • Oh, yeah, what a match!! Tom should make future recordings with Michael Sweet on vocals. Sweet is also a superb guitarist, and the only vocalist who could ever come close to Brad Delp's level of skill. Boston can WALK ON with Michael Sweet!

  • Michael Sweet has a great voice.

  • Wow....this dude does a great job sounding like Brad Delp. Tom Scholtz should slide him in with Fran Cosmo as the new lead singers.

  • I agree. These bloggers need to stay off of Michael. He does a fantastic job. Not too many people in the world can sing as high and powerful as Brad Delp.

  • lose the bitch on the stage playing bass.....would you ever see a "chick" in the Stones? I rest my case! Supposedly Brad wasnt overly excited about Tom's sex toy up there either back before he offed himself!

  • Kimbery Dahme is pretty cool. She is not Tom's sex toy. For one, she's half his age. For two, he doesn't like her like that. Get a life... If you don't like Boston, stop commenting on their videos.

    FK

  • "half his age"? hahaha so fucking what! Tell McCartney that...HE likes em young too! I guarantee he's fucking her! Thats why she's up there! Are you Tom's cousin or what? Why the blind defense of him? The man is an arse!

  • Kim sucks Tom to keep her job. If you don't know nothin' about the real 70's Boston with Barry and Fran, dude you should be out of here!

  • Don't know the band... I only have a bootleg DVD from 1979 of them plus I do my research. Tom isn't a pimp and he'd never sink that low.

  • Thanks for posting. I wish they could get the band back together and tour again. What a legacy Brad left behind.

  • Michael Sweet of Stryper? was great. I need to check their music out. He was the next best thing to Brad. This group should write some new music with Michael at the helm.

  • im glad, this was great exposure for him, He is truly one of the "best vocalists" on this earth!

  • Geeezzz.....Its time to reunite this disfuntional family for Brad and the fans. Boston will always Brad, Tom "the great" Barry, Fran and Sib. Bring back Fran C. for vocals and have memorial reunion tour. Or, we can just watch Tom "the great" yukk us through another decade like he did in 1980. Suk eggs Tom.

  • It's too bad they didn't have Bob Vose from the band Fortune sing one song.

  • i love this

  • Good news-- Metronome Studios was there recording the entire concert for a future release. Stay tuned!!

  • OMG thank you for posting this.... I wondered how I'd get a peek at it I thought about it all that day. He was so loved and didn't even know. He touched so many lives. JUST LISTEN TO THE FANS. WAS IT LIKE THAT THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH? BD Forever Baby!

  • Doesn't anyone have a video of the final song with all the members on stage? I would love to see it! Thanks!

  • Thanks for the video. Michael did an excellent job, but then I knew he would.

  • Tom is God? Try the devil! He caused Brads death by being a lawsuit-happy jerk. Why do you think Goudreau was nowhere to be seen at this? Tom deserves to be fucking beaten, the way he has treated former members!

  • Goudreau WAS there, so was Fran Sheehan, Sib Hashian, Jim Masdea, David Sykes, Fran Cosmo, and many others... not to mention Farrenheit, Extreme, Godsmack, Beatlejuice, RTZ, and Orion the Hunter. I was there. It was about Brad.

  • Yes, Sib was there but he did not get up on stage with BOSTON

  • thank you --thank you --thank you

Praise God for whoever posted this. I so wanted to see Stryper's frontman rock with the greatest band ever! Please put the concert out on DVD so I can buy it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Michael Sweet did a great job! Especially on such short notice and only 5 days of practice! The show was AWESOME!

  • Good job Michael. Does anyone have video of Don't Look Back with Curly Smith and Kimberly?

  • that bible thumper has pretty wicked pipes

  • u betcha! got lots of videos of his band up here! chek em out

  • nice that he lend his hand to the show but sorry not even close. hes too much of a wailer.

  • probably because of the difference in styles of music..and vocally, MIke had to belt out songs.. being Hard Metal...etc.. just my 2 cents..

  • Thanks for putting this up I was on the other side in Row N. Great show!! I took about 150 pix that night only a handful came out really good(couldn't use flash).Any one else got any thing else from this show ? Put it up!!

  • Michael did a great job.

  • Boston is awsome! michael did a great job. i tthink your better with your own stuff but hey that was a brad delp song.thanks 4 this video!

  • cool....would love to see more

  • Thanks a mill! Big Stryper/Boston Fan i am!!

  • Dang, did you see jeff crash that cymbal? Dawg. Go dude...Yeah

  • Thank you for putting this up. I couldn't make it to Boston for the show, but I was thinking about it at 6, 7, and watching the time. I am so glad they did this (the bands). Been a Boston fan for ever. There will always be a huge sinking feeling in my chest; but at least I can listen to the music again. Way to go Boston....4rest
